Finally you said something that actually made sense and fit....BRAVO!!!!
Blake gets with the program!
Do you really think I started off listening to music like that? I was just like you and everyone else once upon a time. It was just music, it! Then as time went on and I started getting....deep....I began to realize how much more enjoyable the experience was if you made a journey/trip out of it. So I started getting educated, yep...reading.
Pride..??? It's simply about what sounds the best, that isn't a jumble of sounds going every which away. It's about a smooth flow. It takes years to get it really down, but it's a great experience. I could do what you do at 12. Somebody who knew nothing about music at all could record a jumble of sounds.
I've never once suggested that it was. In fact, I'm one of the few people in this thread who has consistently taken seriously the fact that Avante cares a lot about the music he listens to. I merely suggested that how he and I experience/value music is different and I have asked questions to better understand that difference.
I've never once suggested that it is. I am, in fact, quite certain that my music knowledge is hugely unimpressive and isn't interesting enough to sustain a conversation. That's why I've never posted about my own music tastes here beyond answering specific questions, as I did last night, or occasionally posting a YouTube or two in the "What are you listening to?" thread like everyone else does.
Flute, violin, cello, saxophone, and piano. And I'd like to learn a sixth when I have the time, but I haven't decided what yet. And I sing. And I've been dancing since I was four years old, quite seriously until I was almost 19.
None. I've never wanted to compose. How many compositions has Avante completed?
I've never claimed that it was or that I am.
Indeed.
Ah shucks~~~~~~~~
Wow, that was a lot of straw for one post.
lol still trying too hard
I'm as amazed as you are.
You don't need to know that two blues songs are both pre-war and both from Alabama in order for them to sound good together. A distinction like that exists for nothing more than the smug satisfaction that comes from having made it.
Like I said, I call bull .
Music is not some compe ion and your way, my way or anyone else's way is no better or worse.
Yet, you entered here for the reasons I already stated.
And you just tried to make it a compe ion yourself, you stupid hypocrite.
Are you working at not getting it?
Ya ever wanna hear just some Bluegrass, how about some Chicago blues, ever wanna hear just some vintage country? Trust me girl, lots of people do. Won't find too many going from rap to country then off to classical inside 10 minutes.
Now...
You can....Blues From The South....and go with what you talked about. Yep, perfect! But, if ya wanna hear just Alabama blues which is as primitive as it gets, guess what?
Yep..
Edward Thompson
Lucille Bogan
Boweavil Jackson
Sonny Scott
Peanut the Kidnapper
Walter Roland
Daddy Stovepipe
Pillie Bolling
Ed Bell
Birmingham Jug Band
Jaybird Coleman
Marshall Owens
...it will have to be.
That's why I have CD's dedicated to...
Slide Guitar
Alabama
St.Louis
Hillbillie Blues
Mississiippi Delta
Texas
Piano
Harmonica
Female
Memphis
Chicago
East Coast
Georgia
....blues.
You're not calling bull , though. You're stubbornly throwing a temper tantrum.
Calling bull usually involves providing specific (and hopefully compelling) evidence that supports your skepticism. You haven't done that. You've never even tried to do that. What you're doing instead is stamping your feet in protest because my responses contradict what you want to believe about me.
It wouldn't be the first time you flatter yourself so, yawn, what else is new?
lol
I gave you specific reasons and every one was dead on. It just revealed what you are about and you hate it.
Don't blame you. I would hate it too.
But you don't HAVE TO know that in order to enjoy the music.
Wow~~~~~~~
You are about as lost as lost gets. Girl...sheesh~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Bob Dylan loved this guy, he was a big influense on him as was Woody Guthrie. Now what if I wanna listen to Dylan and those who he covered and influensed him? Well? Yep, you'll need to know what?
Look, stick to jumble, it's you. I prefer something a little deeper than that....ok?

Of course you think they were.
You'd convinced yourself of their accuracy before you even typed them.
lol more hypocritical projection.
Just because you meltdown whenever someone successfully calls you on your bull , that doesn't mean you can do it yourself.
what are ya'll arguing about now?!?
anyways, when i'm training at the gym i prefer to get in the mood by listening to rap, yep, it gets me in the mood. nothing keeps me pumped up and in the mood to train like young inner city men rapping about selling drugs, shooting up a house or two and calling women es over a thumping 808 and looped piano keys. dmx, lil wayne, pastor troy, pusha t, big krit and many others help me maintain that mood from the moment i walk into the gym until i leave.
once in my car i like to switch my mood up to a more laid back, yep, mellow type of mood. so i'll throw on some drake, r.kelly or take it back and listen to some ballads from the 70's.
Bingo, Bango!!!!!!!!
Yep, it's all about the mood. This...ah the with it just toss a bunch of stuff together....hahahahaha!!!!!!!! I outgrew that silliness.
SBM is checking assholes for contrabands at work
Avante has just come in. Handcuffed and drunk.
Yep, a mood song comes to SBM's mind

Again, your way is not measurably better or worse than any other way. You don't get it.
You are somewhere out in west Texas, ya pull into a biker bar for a drink. Tired from the road, a little ZZ Top would be nice, maybe some Stevie Ray, as ya walk in ya hear....
Everyone is grooving with the sound, cool! But totally unsuspected.
It's patently absurd to try to codify the enjoyment of music. I don't know why you even press on with that line of bull . If it works for you, great.
It doesn't have to work for anyone else. That's basically the lure of the love of music.
When I compose, I don't give a what anyone else thinks about it. Unless I'm under contract, I write for me. Period. I'm not alone in that respect.
