With the way Bonner and Ginobili are playing right now, I don't see why he needs to be out on the floor.

It's possible for the Spurs to win the Finals without him even getting 60 seconds' worth of playing time on the court.

What does Bonner and Ginobili have to do with McGrady's playing time? If anything, he should be given some of Danny Green's minutes to see what he has left.

I want to see McGrady on the court the next time the Spurs are leading by 15+ points with four minutes or less to play.

I doubt it. I can see Pop putting him in maybe with a minute and a half to play if we have a 15 point lead. 4 minutes is an eternity, and McGrady strongly hinted that he's grotesquely out of shape, so he has to fix that before Pop even considers giving him garbage time.

Pop emphasized that McGrady is here for insurance. He's not here to act as the final piece for the Spurs run at a championship. He's just insurance.

I'm pretty sure he would actually have to be in uniform before he could play.

My guess is that he's active next round, and he'll see some playing time if it goes late, or in the WCFs..

I can't imagine him playing a second in this series..

Denver has a few big/long wing players, McGrady could be used as an alternative if everybody ahead of him is struggling, particularly Green and Neal..

I'm sure it'll be a situational thing for Pop to play McGrady. We needed extra bigs against Howard and Gasol, so he has Baynes active. If we play Denver or Golden State, I can see TMac being active instead.

Yeah It's been a bummer seeing him in a suit behind the bench the last two games. I wish we could at least see him in uniform and be allowed to think that he might play...Pop is so cruel. We completely outmatch the Lakers, and this is the perfect time for him to get some minutes. Especially when were up 10 or more points, which we have been consistently throughout this series. If T-Mac is not in shape, then this is the ONLY series he can be truly effective in, because the Lakers are old, banged up, and out-of-shape themselves. I mean seriously, do you think Pop is going to let him run up and down the floor in mile high Denver next series if he's not in shape? No way. This is the time. Tonight would be perfect. Or Game 4 if we win this one.

Maybe he'll get a lil' burn during game 4 if it's a blowout

Shooters can always shoot but it's a wind issue. Don't know if T-Mac can play even 5 or 10 yet without gassing himself.

I'd like to see him play but chances are, it may never happen. The last season he played in the NBA he averaged about 5 pts in spot minutes. The McGrady most people think we have is LONG gone.

Why not just make patty or nando inactive?

I can do that, just shooting around. Seriously though, the question should be when will Tmac get to suit up?? Save him for the heat;-)

He hasn't played since February. He probably has trouble with a spirited practice at this point.

With Splitter out most likely, looks like número 1 will suit up Sunday.
