But I believe they're stuck in mediocrity for the next 2-3 seasons. 2nd seed is their ceiling in this timeframe tbh.

Chick used to say that Jerry West and Magic were not suited to the head coaching position because of their impatience and demand for perfection. Kobe has those same qualities to overcome, but I think he is a much more patient person with his teammates and you can see it on the sidelines. I think when D'Antoni steps down during next season, Kobe would be a perfect fit. The F O won't have to pay another coach's salary. Kobe will not be able to play the minutes he's used to. But most importantly, he knows this game better than anyone his age and he exceeds many older than he. People will disagree. Let the discussions begin.

That's why when Shanny came aboard he assumed all power and player movement. Danny just does the money now so that example is outdated tbh. We have toned down on the big FA spendings and have had 3 strong drafts in a row

Well yeah, the skins are better now, I was talking about the Skins when they were signing big names and each season were a failure.
