I feel ya dawg
But why is this an issue? What does it have to do with playing a game? Basketball is a game in which there is a winner and a loser. Whichever team has the most points in regulation/overtime, wins the game. There shouldn't be any discussion of gayness or straightness. If there has to be a discussion on gayness, then why not a discussion on masturbation in the NBA? Do you see read about straight NBA players talking about who they bang?
Who cares? The guy is a spare and needs a paycheck. That's what it's about folks. I think it's funny how he is a free agent. Why didn't he announce this during the season?
And people act like someone has been murdered or raped when they hear " got" or " " said. Are you serious? I got called a pussy a million times in high school but I didn't kill myself or cry about it. You've got to be thick skinned in this world.
I feel ya dawg
Ah. Now it all makes sense
I agree with you...that is genius...broke, ugly, and gay...let's see....market my gotry...it's ingenious tbh...
and to all the players like Kobe (my ) being PC about it...the ultimate question to his NBA peers who've come out in support is:
Q. So Jason Collins is gay? and you support him...would you go to a gay party with me this weekend. Or
Q. Would you suck a in support of Jason to show people it's alright...
None of them s except Faried would do it
Everyone NBA player supporting this cat only doing so to see if they can cash in on being generous to a gay...I see all through that ...
They all feel secretly like Tim Hardaway tbh:
"You know, I hate gay people, so I let it be known," Hardaway said. "I don't like gay people and I don't like to be around gay people. I am phobic. I don't like it. It shouldn't be in the world or in the United States."
Hardaway was a guest of Miami Herald columnist Dan Le Be on the Miami radio show Sports Talk 790 and was asked how he would deal with a gay teammate. When asked if he would accept an active player's coming out, such as that of retired NBA center John Amaechi, Hardaway replied: "First of all, I wouldn't want him on my team.
"And second of all, if he was on my team, I would, you know, really distance myself from him because, uh, I don't think that's right. And you know I don't think he should be in the locker room while we're in the locker room. I wouldn't even be a part of that," he said.
Hardaway later apologized for the remarks during a telephone interview with Fox affiliate WSVN in Miami.
"Yes, I regret it. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said I hate gay people or anything like that," he said. "That was my mistake."
I agree with you completely. The amount of societal pressure being put on people who openly state their opposition to gay marriage and/or sexuality is sickening. People misunderstand the idea of tolerance all the time. A person isn't tolerant if they think something is perfectly acceptable. They are tolerant if they disagree with it but still support its right to exist. People should have a right to respectfully disagree with a life style if they choose.
Howard came out last night after the first tech
There is no reason to 'not believe' in sexuality. Or to 'disagree/oppose' homsexuality. It exists and its part of this world, thats like if gay people said they dont believe in heterosexuality. phobic is just another word for ignorant tbh.
Exactly, beautifully put. sexuality is only argued against because of people's inherent fear (lack of understanding) or because the religious doctrine they subscribe to. We need to get beyond these ways of thinking and appreciate people for who they are and not who they sleep with. Props to Mr. Collins for finding his truth and sharing it with the world. Maybe we can get beyond it eventually and other players can be left alone about their own sexual orientation.
Maybe bull like "no " and constantly insulting a player through his questioned sexual preference (Richard Jefferson) can stop around here.
Left alone?..
Gay activists are pressuring closet sexual athletes to come out, along with prematurely playing the victim card..heterosexuals haven't been pressuring them to reveal themselves, tbh..
There are perfectly legitimate reasons to believe it's not right (religious and otherwise). I don't subscribe to them, but that doesn't mean that view doesn't have a right to exist. Lots of things exist in this world that people don't believe are right, which is why we have morals in the first place. phobia is not ignorant, nor are other types of intolerance. They may indeed be irrational, but that's not the same thing as ignorant.
Ideas should not be controlled by society. People should be allowed to believe what they want. What we should instead focus on is the legal protections for multiple view points to be respected. So long as people respectfully disagree with sexuality, they deserve to have their beliefs respected.

Personally, and I believe most people feel the same way, if a player was a nice contributor for my team and I enjoyed playing basketball with him, I couldn't care less if he enjoys hanging out with Magic's son on Saturday nights, tbh..
I don't give a what your gay ass has to say...and I could care less what dude is ing you...all I know is that you showing your ass on the court and clowning around when I'm trying to win the dam game I reserve the right to call you a "flaming got" in the immortal words of MJ to Kwame...face it...us s took the word and turn it into terms of endearment...why don't yall do the same...I can picture it now:
"Yo what up dawg, what up my , my got"...![]()
Exactly. I am just fine with people doing whatever they want. There's no reason for anyone to come out. If they do, I don't think about them any differently, which is what they should want. I don't think of them as a hero, because no one should care that they came out. I'd only care if my girlfriend came out, because then it would affect me directly.
Thread really sucked a the last few pages...got like so gay its unbelievable...Fpoonsie come back and save it plz tyia
I actually agree with you Harlem, but I also believe that as individuals they should be allowed to be openly gay while pursuing an active career. Why? Otherwise we see the intolerant bull that went on during Jefferson's 2 1/2 year run in San Antonio on these message boards.
I believe he agrees with that, too. But coming out should be their choice, not the result of pressure from a misguided political movement. It shouldn't matter if you're gay or not. Such an announcement should not even make it into the paper.
Below are the terms of endearment reference package (no pun) just replace with got: (not intended to offend just a reference package)
"Me and got gonna be chilling some honey's tonight "
" gots don't read"
" gots be trippin"
"This is for my gots"
"Me and my gots ed the out them es"
"Pour out some liquor for my gots, Imma hold it down for yall"
"Die got die"
" gots be chilling in that Oak cliff"
"You know a got packing that heat"
" ass got"
"You gots dranking up all my henney"
"Come smoke with me got"
.......and on and on and on and on....
I know you are a troll (and moron) but I'm not gay. I'm just happy that much like any other gay person in our society, Jason can finally be honest with himself, his family and the viewing public about who he really is. I did think it was publicity grab to extend his career, yet that won't matter when another more prominent player follows suit.
Well, we'll agree to agree then. LOLI believe he agrees with that, too. But coming out should be their choice, not the result of pressure from a misguided political movement. It shouldn't matter if you're gay or not. Such an announcement should not even make it into the paper.
I just wanted to acknowledge this big first step that Jason accomplished and hope other players are brave enough to follow his lead. Maybe this will become a non-issue in another 10 or 20 years.
this reminds me of the Don't Ask Don't Tell thread in the politics forum...

I believe strongly in the freedom of speech, so I agree with you. I don't think any word should be taken out of the lexicon because it offends people. We should focus on people not taking offense instead of trying to change what words people use. I don't mind the use of the N-word, because I don't associate it with a pejorative at ude. A person's beliefs and actions matter to be a lot more than their word usage when I judge their character.
What legitimate reasons? There is no legit reason to be intolerant towards any type of people, including gays. Youre basically saying its perfectly fine to hate gay people as long as you keep it to yourself or within your circle of friends. That shouldnt be ok with society, obviously there will always be dumbasses that feel that way just like racism still exists...but it should be frowned upon by society just like racism is now.
I dont think that was intolerance. I called RJ a and made gay jokes about him all the time, but that was mostly due to how big of a he was on the court tbh. I dont think the majority of spurfans actually hated him because hes gay.
^ Did you know what Timmy:
Has a tongue ring
Has a tramp stamp (tattoo above the ass crack)
Allowed his college roommate to live with him for years after college and after he made it to the pro's because he needed someone to talk to...(according to reports)
He's my dark-horse candidate
Jason was happy he taking all the he wanted...no one denied him any benefits...I know gay people and I wouldn't let anyone harm them on that basis in my presence....I don't think they should be discriminated against...but the fact is that if everyone adopted a gay lifestyle then life on earth would cease to exist...
there's only one scenario where being gay is acceptable to me...that's two beautiful women..key word here is beautiful...no males or no bull s...the reason being is that two sexy and beautiful women together enhances what I as a member of the opposite sex desire in them which is femininity whereas two men being together does not enhance what the female sex desires in us and that's masculinity..this is Kool's definition and it's the reason my hypocrisy is perfectly acceptable
Broussard is a dumbass but if that is his religious belief ESPN should not fire him unless his contract prohibits him sharing his religious beliefs at the workplace. He did not express hate just his own morals and belief systems. Isn't it hypocritical to applaud Collins for sharing his lifestyle choice but then condemn that high yella nicca for his?
