I didn't get to what the Memphis game because I was at the Rockets game, could someone some up how ty Joey was tonight? I saw a replay on SC of him tossing CP3 which seemed pretty questionable, but sounds like he was godaweful tonight.
He was auditioning for a spot in any OKC game.

I'm no fan of Joey, but I agree with both of those calls:
CP3 makes a thug non-basketball chicken blindside hit to Gasol's midsection. I think most here would be pissed if it was Timmy or Tiago he did it to.
ZBo turns around during foul shots to yell at the Clipper bench. There was already wrestling earlier. That's how fights get started in garbage time of elimination games.
I expect Joey Crawford to not see another game in the playoffs unless Stern needs him to choke on a whistle especially after tossing two stars like that.

Really don't like the guy, but those were both technical fouls. I wouldn't even call either of them questionable (possibly ZBo's, because we don't know exactly what he said). I actually give Crawford some credit for doing the right thing in both cases.
There's zero chance that Joey is out after Round 1. In fact, since he was a crew chief for all of his round 1 games, the substantially greater likelihood is that he'll be one of the 12 Finals officials -- again, just like every year since 1986; with the exception of 2007, when he was suspended for the entire playoffs, Joey's worked every Finals for almost 30 years. If he's out before the Finals, it will be a major development.
If the reffing on that game didn't give the league pause, I doubt any other game will, so you definitely might be onto something there.
Interesting, the last time Crawford didn't ref the playoffs the Spurs won.
This guy is a joke. Period.
Since the league went to 3 man officiating crews in 1988-89, it has had 3 Finals Game 7's (the ultimate NBA game in any season) -- Rockets/Knicks in 1995; Spurs/Pistons in 2005; and Lakers/Celtics in 2010. Joey has worked all 3 of those games. In 2010, the league assigned him to an unprecedented (during this era) 3rd Finals game to have him be the crew chief that night. That was after his suspension, so it was after his questionable judgment and insufferably gigantic ego had been on it's greatest public display and brought the greatest public consequence. The league seems to believe that Joey is, despite his faults, one of its best officials.
