It might. OKC is looking like straight garbage right now.
I know itīs very offtopic, just wanted to share it.
I DO NOT think this dream will come true.
It might. OKC is looking like straight garbage right now.
I don't know about a sweep but I think they'll win by 13 today. In fact, I bet the average margin of victory will be +10 for Memphis. They are that much better than OKC. I hope the Spurs get a chance to play either one of them. Sweet revenge for the fans.
OKC cannot seem to match Memphis' firepower. I feel the Spurs can seriously take either one if healthy.
OKC, minus Westbrook, is a virtual 8 seed.
The Grizz are one legit shooter shooter from being able to win the West imo.
Fuk okc. Hate that fukin get team.
Wow...major choke job by Memphis there. It's still going to be a long series.
Glad OKC won so this series will drag out. If Memphis won today then they would have taken it in 5 at the most.
If I'm OKC, I worry a lot about this. Durant poured in 35, Kevin Martin made solid contributions, and they still almost lost. Games 2-4 will probably get ugly.
Either way, the Spurs want this. Go to work against GS, stay healthy, and hope that Memphis and OKC beat the out of each other.
I'm just surprised at how many teams have been showing a complete lack of fundamentals and poise during the closing stretches of games. It's not just about young guys making newbie mistakes; we're seeing veterab players foul up plays they should run countless times with their eyes closed. The Grizzlies looked like the Warriors at the end of Game 6 just now.
I dunno but when you have a chance to win a game on the road by making simple executions, hitting free throws and getting the ball inbounds and you don't do it, it's a loss that can get to their heads and affect the next game. This will almost surely go 7 games, though. We'll see.
The entire game changed on one simple play. Gasol had a wide open dunk and decides to get fancy a la splitter, ball gets blocked and fisher hits a 3 at the other end.
I'm surprised Memphis let Okc back in to the game. No worries. I'd welcome either opponent.
LOL dream proved wrong after 1 hour
Absolutely. Failure to execute can be a cancerous psychological blow. My thinking is, however, that a failure to execute is a temporary problem. OKC's issues are an over-reliance on Durant and a lack of a dependable second scoring threat they're accustomed to in Westbrook. In the long run, OKC's issue is more pressing, IMO. Memphis can overcome theirs. This series is minimum 6 games.
wow thats a great dream... in 2011 I had a dream about the Spurs beating the Grizzlies
I had a dream the Spurs lost to OKC in game 6 of the 2012 WCF because the players actually beat the Spurs.
I awake that this dream be bullsh*t
Gasol and Z-Bo playing well = OKC is doomed
Looking past Memphis probably cost Pop the series, tbh.
I really would rather play OKC. One for revenge, two for the fact they don't have Westbrook and Harden(who killed us last year) and three, Memphis scares me.
I once wanted Memphis to beat OKC in the playoffs. Now I'm not sure that would necessarily even be a good thing.
Not sure which would be a more difficult matchup?
Memphis vs. San Antonio, but the Spurs having homecourt advantage,
or
Oklahoma City without Westbrook vs. San Antonio, but OKC holding homecourt advantage?
Why do we have to focus on the now instead of speculating on potential future matchups? We're fans, not coaches or players. If we get ahead of ourselves, or distracted, how does that affect what happens on the basketball court at all?
