Its not Goku's fault hes so popular. It was supposed to be gohan who have killed buu and goku was supposed to stay dead but his popularity is why he came back and GT is ing trash.

Alright so back on topic, portman's probably done after this one
I would think so, since they practically had to force her to be in this one. I think she tried to walk after the first director was canned.

pretty certain the gundam franchise is older then ironman franchise, what u see in ironman especially all the hardware is already explained and showed in the earlier gundam series which are probably 30-40yrs ahead of its time

    Iron Man: 1963

    First Gundam: 1979

You lose. Gundam actually hijacked quite a bit of its world from all kinds of other science fiction works, mostly Starship Troopers (Heinlein novel). Tomino is also on record as saying the Gundam just had a gigantic real sword until Star Wars came out and he changed it to a beam saber. The space colony design/tech is pretty much 100% ripped off from Gerard O'Neill's book "The High Frontier." The Zabi family is more or less collectively Space Hitler... almost nothing in the first Gundam is original. It still works and is a decent enough foundation for large scale fiction, but a lot of the acclaim Gundam gets for being "groundbreaking" for its time is levied upon it by idiots who didn't do their homework.

That's mostly because the Cyborgs/Cell story took so long to get off the ground. The problem with that is Toriyama intended the first two cyborgs to be the villains of the entire arc. His previous editor saw them in the weekly comic and contacted him saying, "Really? A fat man and an old guy? You can do better." Obviously referring to #19 and #20. So after taking that criticism he created #17 and #18 to take over the mantle as the main villains for the arc. But after seeing those two, Toriyama's former editor called him and said, "Really? Just two kids? You can do better."

That's when he created Cell. Now, his actual editor who was working on Dragon Ball with him at the time did not like the original design of Cell so he told Toriyama, "Make him transform." That's when the idea of Cell needing to absorb the two cyborgs to reach his perfect form came about and is arguably when that arc starts to get good. So keep in mind, you could have had an entire arc of just #19 and #20 and instead have Cell. I agree that Freeza was the best part, but only because he was so evil he made Vegeta cry. And the whole Goku denying being a Saiyan, then vowing revenge for his race and becoming a Super Saiyan part was pretty bad ass.

The Boo arc is almost as good as Freeza except for how they cheapen the act of becoming a Super Saiyan. In the previous two arcs you see all of the major characters truly struggle to reach that status and the two kids just turn it on like it's a light switch. And I don't want to be the guy that says anything in Dragon Ball is OP, but Gotenks getting to Super Saiyan 3 was OP. Goku could only stay in SS3 for a matter of minutes and it took almost all of his power away to do it and the kids just flip another light switch and reach that level. ing OP. Rest of Boo arc is extremely solid and was a decent ending to that series tbh.

Is Thor the least interesting comic character ever? Maybe Captain America but close.

iirc it has something to do with them being human, as well as two fused human-sayians in SS mode that makes Gotenks so got damn powerful and able to sustain SS3

GT does not follow the comic book, which ends after Majin Boo. I've personally never watched GT because I know it's not the real Dragon Ball story. And the Boo arc is fantastic. Boo is almost as good a villain as Freeza. Everyone likes Freeza because he's an aristocratic space that just so happened to be the strongest guy in the universe at the time who got a kick out of torturing people and making them feel like they had a chance before killing them and destroying their entire planet. Boo just... turns you into candy and laughs. It's an equally creepy element just without the fanfare because he doesn't rub it in with dialogue like Freeza did. The characters struggle just as much to defeat him and it features some of the more interesting ideas in the series (the Kaioshins, their planet, the Z sword, Super Saiyan 3, fusion, Vegeta finally admitting Goku is better than him, etc).

That is unless you watched the English version and think Freeza is a woman who tells bad jokes and just so happens to be the strongest "guy" in the universe. Point is if you watched English DBZ, you did it wrong. Very wrong.

I tried watching DB in japanese and I just couldn't get over the girly Goku voice along with the majority of the cast.

Compared to say, Saint Seiya's voiceovers, the guys from DBZ have nothing on the said other guys.

With that said, I recently downloaded the whole DB-Z-GT anime out of nostalgia and stashed it on one of my external HDs.

They're MKV so they have both the English/Japanese and an alternate channel while retaining a very good quality video so its a win-win.

Dont think I'll see it anytime soon but its there. lol
