Watch how right after the "contact", both of their knees bend and they thrust themselves backwards. Martin actually does a good job of selling it, with his scrawny ass it wouldn't look so bad if he was there alone, but damn this is bad bad bad bad...

We're not the only ones that noticed: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nba-ba...143618293.html

So kudos to you, Thunder guards Derek Fisher and Thabo Sefolosha, for standing together in the face of impending doom as Asik rolled to the cup after setting a screen for Harden at the right elbow midway through the second quarter of Wednesday's Game 5. I mean, the sheer force of the collision sent both Fisher and Sefolosha to the deck so immediately, forcefully and dramatically that it's remarkable the Oklahoma City defenders didn't just disintegrate into dust upon impact.

Such courage — which resulted in a charging call against Asik — will surely land these two brave Thunderers letters of commendation from the league office. Maybe with invoices inside.

Already gotten on my soapbox about this, but this just proves that they are actually coaching all of their players to be floppers. It's like they were doing a drill out there.

Of course Omer with his 255lb frame and well known agility and grace stopped on a dime right before Fisher and Thabo and they flailed backwards without any contact trying to sell a flop; that is by far the most logical conclusion

Seriously, I find it hard to believe there was absolutely no contact on that play; was it enough to warrant a charge? Probably not, should of been a no call. It's two guards stepping up outside the circle with feet planted to stop penetration from a 7 footer that's barreling down from the 3 point line; you feel contact, you sell the charge. That's how they teach you in high school, that's how they teach you in college, and that's how they teach you on the pro circuit. The lack of understanding of how the game works by most fans astounds me.

Derek Fisher fined for his role in double flop against the Rockets

Derek Fisher has been fined $5,000 for violating the league’s anti-flopping rules, it was announced on Monday.

The play in question occurred during the second quarter of the Rockets’ win over the Thunder in Game 5 of their first round playoff series.

This was the hilarious “double flop” achieved in perfect synchronization by both Fisher and Kevin Martin, but Martin, for reasons unknown, came away unscathed by the league office.

Fining only Dfish is rather interesting; although the Laker connection helps.
