    (8) 99 points, (1) 91 points. Location: Memphis. Fearless commentary: 61 wins, 1 seed, got their pushed in.
worst playoff loss in NBA history
    1st 1-seed to lose to an 8-seed in a best of 7
^ worst than a team that was assembled on the fly - with preseason hype
3, count 'em, 3 champions on their roster: TD, TP, Manure couldn't get past an 8 seed
lost 4 times to a team that eeked into the playoffs as an 8th seed
46 wins > 61 wins (when it counts)
8 worst than 2004 Bronze Medal
2, count 'em, 2 embarrassing stains on TD's legacy

None of that is worse than 4 Hall of Famers needing $120 million and 50 FTs to sneak into the playoffs in a year they were supposed to go 73-9 and challenge Miami.
    - keep telling yourself that.
    - I guarantee you if I bump a few 2011 threads, most of you thought you were cutting the nets down
    - at you taking anything MWP says serious
    - at you deflecting and not refuting anything I wrote
    - because you can't
    - Lakers are irrellevant (aka going fishing) right now
    - yet they still on det brain of yours

Seriously, you have to go back in history to Wehrmacht enters Paris to find failure on par with the 2013 Lakers.

    - thinking the Lakers won't rebound
    - Spurs will be no better than the Raps in 2 years
    - the Lakers always reload - sometimes it works, sometimes it don't
    - at the Spurs' future after Duncan goes to the glue factory

We already owned up to 8.

As bad as it was, it wasn't the biggest failure in sports history.

No, you haven't. Otherwise, this thread doesn't exist. There's a difference between a team with proven champions that been together for 10 years losing in pathetic fashion to a team that eeked (46 wins) into the playoffs. Versus a team that was thrown together on the fly, and was expected to compete because of the names on the backs of their jerseys. In other words, they had no business there to begin with. So either winning 61 games det year was the biggest fluke win total in NBA history (given the results of 8), or it is the biggest NBA upset in NBA history. I'm interested in your on this take.

Revisionist history bro; lol a team with four hall of famers that was supposed to beat Miami needing 50 free throws just to sneak into the playoffs.

No amount of invoking 8 will deflect from the fact that the 2012-13 Lakers are the biggest failure in sports history.

Like I told Bynumite. Own up, son.

Refreshing to finally to see a Laker fan acknowledge it was Gasol and not Capt 6-24 leading that team to those two rings.

I don't get why 8 is supposed to be as bad as The Achilles.

Can't be worse than Dallas in 2007.

    61 - 46 = 15
    67 - 42 = 25

Unfortunately gradeschool reading class seems to be another biggest failure for that team's fans tbh.

Not deflecting, but rather, correcting. Am I disappointed in the Lakers' season? I'll put it to you like this, when we are loaded and don't win, yeah. However, there are a myriad of reasons why we lost this year. But for sake of being called a pussy or an asshole, I'll plead the 5th.

All BS to the side, 8 is worst than Lakers' 2013 season. Sure, we had expectations and didn't live up to them. You guys had your big 3 that had been together for a decade and lost to a team that would have lost in the sweet 16 of the 2011 NCAA tournament.
