Barkley was right about the Mavs beating the Lakers in 2011. I believe he was the only one on Inside the NBA that picked the Mavs to beat the Lakers in 2011. Not always a kiss of death.

we both know they are not opting out. thats that. Kobe's contract is done after this year, and if he comes back theres no ing way hes getting more than 12-15 mill. Lakers will have the cap to attract some other super star for the future, you got to remember bro this is LA, and people want to come here and run the show. Im sure management upstairs is workin on somethin for the future. Like for example, no troll intended with this, but in 2014 lebrons a free agent and you say choose SA or LA what do you think he will say?
well no people would prefer LA over SA, but I don't think SA is a hole. it's more humid, and there's obviously more things to do, celebs, pussy etc....

But you act like Lakers are the only place that can offer this. Miami seems to be very attractive, NYC is still a prime location, and ultimately it's about the money and organization. Location is important, and SA is not a bad location, but obviously LA offers more things to do.

like I said, just because they are making lots of money from the TW deal, you are crazy if you think the Buss family will blow through cash like they once did. Lakers are their main source of income, they will have to deal with the realities of parity (or something similar) like the other teams. if they did go to a true hard cap, Laker bandwagoners would jump ship.

I have never been to SA personally, got a chance to see Houston once, and it was meh.. Cant stay out of southern cal for too long once you have come.
As for their source of income, its not just the Time Warner deal dude.. they make money a ton of other ways, they have been rining for years without time warners money, and now that they have it, its puts them ahead of the league even more, it means they can pay the luxury tax to have multiple star while other teams cant afford it. This cap may benefit the lakers who knows.

so pretty much Laker fans arrogance comes from teh ability to outspend. pretty much like Yankees fans.

the Buss family only have the Lakers. they might have some other investments, real estate etc....but they aren't like brilliant businessman. , Jim Buss is your typical coked up LA rich kid, only has any success because of daddy. Good luck with him running things.

They won't be spending like they once did, unless they like pissing cash away. And even if they continue blowing through cash, that doesn't always mean nothing, as this year is living proof of a what a $100 million sandwich looks like. like I said, Laker fans better pray there is never a hard cap like the NFL.

It's interesting that Durant dresses in normal clothes during postgame interviews without Alpha there to dress him.
