    The Spurs have appeared in the conference finals eight times since 1999. (1999, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2012, 2013)

Even the Lakers have only appeared in the conference finals seven times during that same timeframe.

Footnote: To be fair, the Lakers did appear in the WCF in 1998.

It's not a meaningless stat. About 29 other teams/fans in the league would probably be ecstatic if they simply made it to the conference finals. See Grizzlies fans, whose team is there for the first time.

While certainly less meaningful than les, it's definitely a symbol of incredible prolonged success for a single team.

You pretty much know nothing about basketball if such consistency means nothing.
It means that Spurs have had probably the best 15 years they would ever have as a franchise.

Should be noted that every time the Lakers made the Conference Finals, they made the Finals right after.

That's true, the Lakers are 7-0 in WCFs since 2000.

Doesn't matter unless they ring this year. Otherwise the Spurs are only .500 in WCF in the Duncan/Popovich era.

That stat is not meaningless at all, its huge, especially considering the western cobference superiority over the east in that time frame.

Meaningless? That's a pretty damn impressive stat if you ask me. If you grew up watching the Spurs in the early 90's you would understand why some of us around here enjoy all of this success so much right now while we can...

Should be noted that every time SA made the Finals, we won. Lakers didn't do that, losing twice.

    Coffee is for closers.

Exactly. I grew up a Houston football fan. I don't have to say much more.

Perhaps all these fans who think the WCF doesn't mean should talk to these fans and these fans and give them their sob story about how bad it sucks to make it only make it that far.

The Spurs also have the most conference finals losses.
