Jon Barry and Webber
Bill Land is one over-the-top, corny-ass homer commentator. All the "OH MAMAS!!!!!!" he shrieks throughout the games, especially when Green hits his 3's. I just wanna' strangle him everytime he starts squealing his head off... and he does this throughout the entirety of each game.
Sean Elliott really doesnt bother me tbh...The real question should be what commentator yall don't hate....
I'm surprised no one has mention Pete Pranica, Sean Tuohy, or Brevin Knight because I know there are some fans on these board who said that they really dislike the Grizzlies commentators.
+1 on every bad thing said about Heinsohn in this thread.
a better question is who still gives two s about the commentators imho. most commentators should just shut the s up or i'd rather turn the sound off watching those games

If we are talking local, then it's easily Clyde Drexler tbh. Anybody who doesn't agree is half re .

He just kicks his re edness into another gear when he covers the Spurs. Brent was the one cucked and Jon is the one more butthurt about the whole deal.
Makes you wonder if he didn't ed Erin himself too.
Heinsohn is a guy who spent two minutes talking about how Leon Powe was the second coming of Moses Malone (true story)..Lol, at anyone taking this guy seriously.."These are the types of people I get outraged about! Thats what I do with my life!"
Mike Breen is a play by play guy. I would say that the worst commentators are basically the guys in studio on ESPN/ABC. Magic needs to take a speech class. The same could be said for Jalen Rose and Stephen A. Smith. Wilbon is okay. Simmons is ridiculously unfunny. Jeff Van Gundy is good mainly because he doesn't follow the script and is honest about his observations.

Also agreed that Jalen Rose cannot even speak very well; ABC and ESPN make some weird choices.
The Bad
1. Stu Lance (Lakers TV color guy) is the absolute worst not only in the history of television, but the in the history of air.
2. John Ireland (Lakers radio play-by-play guy) is only fractionally better than Stu Lance. Which makes Ireland completely unlistenable.
3. But the Heat TV announcers are giving both of these buffoons a run for their money. They both seem disinterested in what's happening, despite LeBron James being on the floor every night. They sound like two old farts at the track who are killing time between dog races.
4. Sean ****** is horrific. Even as a Spurs fan, he's really, really difficult to take.
5. Gil McGregor used to be the Hornets color guy, although I think he's gone now. Dude was horrible.
6. Cleveland's announcers are also abysmal.
7. Chris Webber is terrible now, but so was Reggie Miller when he started. Webber will get better.
8. Mark Jackson was horrendous. Thank heaven he's coaching now.
The Good
1. Far and away the best tandem in the league is Ralph Lawlor and Mike Smith (the Clippers). Those guys are fantastic, and have been for several years - way before the Clips were any good.
2. Jeff Van Gundy is great.
3. Doug Collins is also great. No sense of humor, but extremely keen analysis. Stuff of basketball junkies.
4. I think Bones Barry will be a good color guy when they let him do it. Jon Barry is a bit too opinionated and borderline snarky, but Brent's sense of humor and non-snarky tone will make him much better than his brother.

I like JVG because he offers a coach's insight to the game. It's amazing to watch him point something out in the defense, and you see it develop right after he points out the deficiency. He also has a self deprecating humor that I find genuine, unlike the black commentators who all have egos through the roof. Chris Weber wears his ego on his face, it's so obvious. Must be a black thing. Just watch Shaq get all salty when Charles mentions something about his game. I'm waiting for "4 rings, got!!" from him any day now, oh but it's Dr Shaq now with his basketweaving degree from Tarry State Online.
Pelicans made a big upgrade going to Fox Sports New Orleans. Joel Meyers is a pro and David Wesley was an upgrade over Gil McGregor.
I would go with Webber.
