Bruce was the ultimate hype man tbh.![]()
TBH, I started off as a bandwagon/casual fan of the bulls. But hey, I was a kid. MJ and the Bulls were gods during the 90s. Funny how I came across the spurs. I remember they were playing portland, and since pip was in portland, I was rooting for him. And then TD showed me the light. Became a fan of TD and anything spurs after that.
Bruce was the ultimate hype man tbh.![]()
I actually just saw both the 05' and the 07' dvd's the other day too. Those teams were awesome. Manu dominated in 05' and Tony took his turn in 07'.
The days leading up to Game 7 and the game itself were some of the most nerve wrecking times for me as a Spurs fan ever...![]()
Really? That team was loaded with veterans like Barry, Horry, Bowen, and Finley. This team has more young guns in Green, Splitter, Leonard, and Joseph...
Greatest SA team? 05 or 03? tbh.
05 maybe because of Manu in his prime and Tony was better, but 03 Tim was on a different level and that team was so damn fun to watch and deeeeeeeeeep! Parker still a kid then though and Manu a rookie! Jax a youngin too! So talented and so deep but so young! D ROB going out and older but still better than most we had since at C! It is hard to say here! Both for different reasons! 03 team could play any game you threw at them from vets to youngins, you wanted to run we could run! SLOW IT DOWN we could d it up and grind it out! Diverse team. 05 team was just solid though.
Very hard imho. One could make a case that 03 duncan would compensate the emergence of Manu in 05 and TP getting better. But it's not like TD wasn't a beast in 05 too. I think 05 takes it by an inch. Maybe 05 in 7 over 03.
03 wasnt the best tbh but tim was at his best that year while drob was at the end of the road and tony and manu were no where close to what they became...its either 05 or 07 imo
Nah, 03 Tim would destroy anyone on that 07 roster tbh.
03 Tim was the tbh.
07 tim would give 03 tim a hard time tbh and manu & tony would destroy the 03 version of themselves...tbh if the spurs went 6 games with nets than the 07 spurs would beat them imho
I think '99 was Spursball at it's best, but I do enjoy watching the '05 Horry game every now and then. One of the best playoff performances ever. Should be a statue of Horry outside Duncan's house, or at least in his Dungeons and Dragons nerd room.
Good point. But 03 Bowen would lock down on 07 TP. Whereas 07 Bowen would have no one to lock down since the offense was all about Prime Timmy.
Glad you're reminiscing upon "The Glory Days."
Did we win the 2013 Championship or something, BTW? Just checking...![]()
07 could not touch 03, sorry.
D ROb was still better than OBERTO! Rose! Better than our backup PF! Jax then! Man he was good that year and clutch. Bowen in 03 was ridiculous on D! Duncan in 03 all world, MVP! His best year. Kerr a vet and Willis! Ginobili off the bench with hair! Parker spry! Claxton a very good backup! That 03 team has an answer for most teams, youth and old, could run or slow it down and beat you! They went a game too long in each series yes but.... When that 03 team got locked and focused they could blow you out! PERIOD.
Everyone sure is hungry.![]()
yea old drob was prob still better than oberto and prime rose is better than past prime horry....but 07 manu and tony were way better than 03 parker manu and jack combined imo...and dont forget the others like finley, barry, elson, bruce and jacque vaughn
03 Bruce would shut down 07 Tony. 03 Jax would handle 07 Manu defensively imho. Bench wont matter that much, and again 07 Spurs doesn't have an answer to 03 Tim.
Bruce was better in 03! Barry I liked yes! Finley had a good run but spotup shooter! I have 03 Jax over him! Elson was near Willis status IMO! Vaughn? NOT NEAR CLAXTON that year as as backup! Not nearly as talented! Kerr was a backup too! 07 a good team yes, but not on our 03 or 05 par IMO! Just my opinion though.
Best Finals ever, tbh.
It would be neat to see Ginobili win a Finals MVP. That way each of the Big Three would have a Finals MVP. It's extremely improbable for Ginobili in 2013, though.
That Finals Game 5 is still the most nerve-wracking game I've watched. Horry was unbelievable.
That Spurs team had so much heart and needed every inch of it to get through that game 7..
05 was better than 03 because Manu was a star player at that point.. 99 might be the best one..
I still wasn't old enough to witness 99. What a shame![]()
Though through watching highlights, and the championship highlights of that year that team was really scary.![]()
