Splitter's D reminds me how ing bad Dice was. I know he was a fan favorite, but he just flat out sucked.
    This tbh. Macdyess was overrated

I like McDyess, but this. If Splitter or Diaw was guarding Z-Bo in 2011, Spurs in 6, imo.

Spurs down by 3. Bonner comes in and gets things going. Kinda-MVP right there.

Splitter's foul wasn't as terrible as I originally thought. He had a decent shot at the block and even made some contact on the ball.
Danny Green got a hand on the ball, and Bayless sort of hesitated while he recovered it. I think that hesitation was part of why Tiago wound up hitting him. Just one of those things.

Tony Parker sharing the ball so much the first half. So generous with the assists today!

ing Bill Simmons, this is nothing like last year. OKC had big leads in both games 1 & 2 before the Spurs came back and won those games. So far, this feels like total dominance.

Yep. People forget Splitter was VERY unhealthy that year. He barely played. . .while Duncan was having his worst season (playing and health-wise). Duncan had to guard both Randolph and Gasol and just had no chance.

We all have seen Timmy shut down ZBo before, but then nobody can guard Gasol. . .now that Gasol can be gaurded okay by Splitter, Duncan can focus on ZBo and make him look absolutely terrible. Imo, Duncan is a nightmare matchup for ZBo defensively. Doesn't bit on ZBo's great shotfakes, and is too long for ZBo to sneak shots past.

The scoring was really spread around this half. We probably won't have a 20pt scorer in the game.

Again, I'm saving my excitement until the Spurs get 4 wins in this series. I felt the same way last year and then the Spurs got backdoor swept. Granted, both seasons are different, but it's still too early.

    The D-has been awesome.

I'm watching on NBA International League Pass. What are Magic, Jalen, Wilbon and Simmons saying about the half?

Why is Simmons on TV? He's so unprofessionally biased. "Wake up Memphis!" Really!?!??

Splitter and Diaw are better options than Dice, but 2013 Z-Bo isn't nearly as good as 2011 Z-Bo..Randolph has struggled with consistency all year, tbh..he has played well in the playoffs against ty compe ion, but he isn't the same guy that killed the Spurs 2 years ago..

Last year on the jazz boards it was "BIG LINEUP WILL CRUSH THE SPURS!" on the Memphis board this year they keep posting "Grit and Grind will win it for us!" as if that's actually thing. lol Memphis fans.

    Welcome to the real playoffs.

Here's to hoping the Spurs continue to ruthlessly assert their will, leaving Memphis with little room for hope in games 3 & 4. Get 'em down, demoralized, and make sure they stay that way.

pretty much where I am. I just have this sense of dread about Memphis getting so frustrated and embarrassed they just haul off and foul somebody so hard that it ends their season, if not career.

Agreed. Use the second half to take the game & crush their will. Rest for 3 days... lather, rinse, repeat.
