Inside Texas reporting a source claiming Stanford is the clear leader for Solomon Thomas. Considering he is arguably the most important recruit for Texas this year, not good news.
A blast from the past..welcome back, Billfromlaketravis!
Yeah, Quinn and family are LSU fans but it seems he's doing his due diligence with the recruiting process. He had
a serious interest with Aggy/Kingsbury but with him now at Tech the mutual interest has seemed to fade.
Baylor is killing us with WR recruiting as Zamora committed to Briles and Co. last night. K.D. seems like he'll be following the same
path soon, so Siverand seems like our best shot of the WR's mentioned.
The Horns need to step up with a big season on the field to stop the bleeding we're seeing with recruiting in 2014 and beyond.
Hook 'em!!
Inside Texas reporting a source claiming Stanford is the clear leader for Solomon Thomas. Considering he is arguably the most important recruit for Texas this year, not good news.
I'm not saying one is right and the other is wrong, but just want the board to know that 24/7 says Texas is still the clear leader for Thomas so there is another perspective out there. We shall see what happens. Hopefully he camps at UT in a few weeks.
Just highlighting this so nobody misses it. Zamora to Baylor.
S Arrion Springs has picked up his coveted Oregon offer.
Applewhite's California trip is already paying off. A guy that wasn't mentioned yesterday, 2015 QB Kyle Kearns of Pleasanton, CA says he will be in Austin for the June 2nd summer camp, according to 24/7.

Not a huge surprise, but Blake Gideon has decided to retire from football.
That's pretty cool on Dillman. I read where his father was a foreign exchange student at the same high school 20 years ago.

Here's a quote from Dillman's coach (Inside Texas):
“He’s a badass. He can do anything out on the field. , Clemson offered him today as an athlete. He’s returned kickoffs for touchdowns. He’ll knock your d*** in the dirt too. He could play linebacker.”
Keep in mind that the film I posted on Dillman is his freshman highlights.

Sop re highlights for 2015 QB Kevin Dillman of La Mirada, CA. Watch the first two plays...my goodness. He's already been invited to play in the 2015 Army game.

Quotes from 2015 QB Kyle Kearns of Pleasanton, CA (HornsNation):
“He (Major Applewhite) came through and was really impressed with what I did,” Kearns said. “I threw for him during our PE period. He said he was really impressed with my anticipation on my throws and my arm strength, my footwork and just all the stuff they really look for in their quarterbacks.”
“A Texas offer would mean the world to me,” Kearns said. “That’s been my goal ever since I was 6 or 7 -- I wanted to play big-time college football. It doesn’t get any bigger than Austin, Texas, where their program is the centerpiece a big football state.”
“It’s kind of a unique situation with Texas going outside of Texas and venturing off to California for a quarterback,” he said.
“Coach Applewhite showing a lot of interest right off the bat. If he’s flying out to California and watching me throw during school, that shows me he’s interested,” Kearns said. “You’re not going to hop on a plane to go watch some average guy throw or waste your time watching someone you doesn’t care about.”
“I’m looking forward to going to Austin and seeing the overall campus, seeing how the coaches work, what the facilities look like and starting a relationship with the coaches,” he said.
“If it’s the right fit, if they offer me, if the situation is right and if I think it’s a perfect fit, I will definitely commit,” Kearns said. “The timetable doesn’t really matter to me. I’m going to visit the college before I commit to it. If it’s the right place, I’ll know it’s the right place to go.”
Update on 2015 ATH Kris Boyd of Gilmer. He's a guy Akina will likely offer at CB (24/7):

“Recruiting for me really picked up after last season,” said Boyd. “I’d say that as of right now, I’m probably hearing from Texas, Baylor and Oklahoma the most. There are others too, but those three are recruiting me the hardest I’d say. I’ve heard more from them than any.”
“Texas told me they want me at defensive back for sure and nowhere else,” he said. “That’s fine by me because that’s where I do best at in my opinion. I feel like that’s where my future is, not at running back.”
“Coach (Duane) Akina told me and my coaches that he’s really impressed with what I do as a corner,” Boyd said. “He and Coach (Stacey) Searels stopped by to watch us workout a couple of weeks ago and he told my coaches that he thinks a lot of me, which was great to hear. To hear a guy like Coach Akina say that about me means a lot.”
“That visit (to the Texas spring game) went great,” said Boyd. “It was a lot of fun and getting to personally meet the coaches and see everything was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had.”
“I got to watch Coach Akina up close and see how he coaches up his players, which was something I really liked,” Boyd added. “He’s a real good guy and you can tell he cares about his players. Plus I got to see just how successful they’ve been under him and how many guys he’s put in the NFL, which was a lot. I was really impressed with him and what he’s done. It stood out a lot to me and it made me think quite a bit about my future.”
“He told me when I visited that he really liked me a lot,” said Boyd. “Then, like I said, when he visited he told my coaches the same. He explained to them that he thought I was a really good fit for Texas and he wants me to keep my grades up and wants to see me this summer at a camp and we’ll go from there.”

Quotes from 2015 S Larry Pryor of Sulphur Spring and his head coach (24/7):
“He's a talented young man, a physical young man and he's still figuring out his limits,” Owens said. “With his athleticism and the way he does certain things and to be doing the things he does is impressive.”
“He's a great open field tackler,” Owens said. “When he grabs a guy, it's like he's shooting venom in them. When he hits people they lose their power.”
“The Horns are my leader,” he said. “I would say that right now my top three is Texas, TCU and then Texas A&M. Those are my favorites in that order with Texas leading.”
“I call them quite a bit,” Pryor said. “I call Coach Searels a lot actually and I plan to start talking to Coach Akina more, too. He told my coaches that he's going to come through to watch me practice sometime soon.”
“He's a kid who can handle it (the recruiting attention),” Owens said. “He gets a little frustrated with people calling him so much, and I've done my best to tell him that he doesn't have to talk to everyone. Be nice to everyone, but you don't have to talk to everyone.”
“It doesn't go to his head,” Owens said. “He's excited about it, but [he hasn't lost] his work ethic, his intensity, his drive and he knows that he's here to help us handle our business.”
And all of those California QBs Applewhite is looking at are rated #26 or higher. Dillman at #12 and Kearns at #26.
RB Adam Choice of Thomasville, GA has committed to Clemson.
Also worth mentioning that SoSo Jamabo is the top rated RB.
Just a random information, one of those scandinavians I talked about earlier checks in at #218, TE/OL/DL Hjalte Froholdt. I've had the pleasure to talk to him a few times and he's really a great guy. Already has offers from Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State and Louisville to name some of them.
