Duncan’s 14th All-NBA Team selection ranks tied for second all-time in NBA history with Karl Malone and Shaquille O’Neal. Ahead of him are Kareem Adbul-Jabbar and Kobe Bryant with 15 All-NBA selections.

The First Team honor is Duncan’s 10th of his career, becoming just the ninth player in NBA history with 10-or-more selections. He joins Kobe Bryant (11), Karl Malone (11), Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (10), Elgin Baylor (10), Bob Cousy (10), Michael Jordan (10), Bob Pet (10) and Jerry West (10),

Duncan becomes the oldest player selected on the All-NBA First Team since Abdul-Jabbar (38-years-old) was named to the First Team in the1985-86 season.

Don't know if this has been mentioned . . .

But TD must be the only player ever named All NBA First Team in three different decades.

    (Maybe Jabbar also?)

(Nope, Jabbar didn't get named to First Team All NBA till 1970.)

Congrats to Timmy and Tony. And yes, since Tony outplayed Chris when they played against each other this year, I Tony should have beat Chris.

By the way, of the first two all-NBA teams, are the two spurs and LeBron the only ones still playing?

Timmy D made the First Team in all four of the Spurs' championship runs. The last time he was First Team was in 2006-07, aka "previous le year".

So I just noticed something. How did Marc Gasol win Defensive Player of the Year....and not make the NBA All-Defensive 1st team?

That just tells you how much bull is typically attributed to these things. Glad to see Duncan got it though, as hes obviously deserving this year.
DPOY = press award. All D teams = coaches award.

It's happened two years in a row, too. Camby was also DPOY/second team in 2012.

Parker only played 66 games, I'm very surprised they had him on the 2nd team ahead of Harden, tbh..

I'd have Harden on the 1st team, tbh..
Up to the ASG, I would be with you, but he flatlined worse than Parker late, and Parker was injured.

"First ballot" depends on your compe ion in any given year. But Manu is a lock to get in, first ballot or not, and has been since Argentina won gold in 2004.

    Kareem was 39 in 1986.
I remember when Akeem got robbed that year. Akeem should have been 1st team center in 1986 not Jabbar, it was a joke. Look it up.

And remember Charles Barkley said he should flat out retire last season? What an idiot. 1st team All-NBA.
