I will all suppose the pop haters will again assume that if you aren't a rabid pop hater like they are, then you are a pop sucker
Western Conference Finals. But I suppose the Popovich critics will come out if the Spurs lose in the WCF or Finals.....
I will all suppose the pop haters will again assume that if you aren't a rabid pop hater like they are, then you are a pop sucker
Any cynical bags gonna try to suggest the Spurs aren't going to the Finals?
Predictions: Goalposts will be moved. Credit for wins, taken.
Otherwise, they are praying for the next loss for the sake of their e-cred.
Or "Pop is finally playing the right rotations, realizes defense wins championships, etc..."
Falls under taking credit; They will say Pop has been reading their posts.
Stunningly predictable.
Ad hominem to follow.
That's the way the Pop haters go. They take credit for his decisions when they work.
Only a moron uses the term " ted on" tbh..
Is "shat upon" acceptable?
And right on cue, looks who pops up in the thread.![]()
28 teams in the NBA would instantly fire their head coach if it meant getting Popovich.
The Bulls are probably the only team that wouldn't.
Fact.
Spurs fans are so en led it's scary.
^ shat on himself
Incredible.
So, to answer the OP............any Popovich supporters want to do some damage control?![]()
Popsuckers all in a tizzy Pop's 5 year experimentation with small ball and turd tower schemes didn't pan out as expected. Many raspberry truffles and toasts of Odouls we're consumed on false premise and blind faith. Meeting sadly no longer begin with a round of fart lighting accompanied by Blake doing his best karaoke edition of Jerry Lee Lewis' "Great Balls of Fire".
So how many rings did Pop PREVENT the Spurs from winning since 2007?
I am gonna say - conservatively - 3. This would have been going to the finals -(if they don't it up now) for ring #8 in Timmy's illustrious career - had Pop not ed it up.
I will forgive him ---
IF the Spurs get #5 this year.
Truth.

Pop made a mistake by not thinking the Spurs could go back to being a good defensive team. He made a mistake by not thinking Splitter could help in that transformation. Very simply, a HOF coach made some major mistakes that alot of Spurs fans recognized.
ok now...

Pop is playing the best players and the team is winning, shocking
It's hilarious how moot this thread is until guys like SBM give an alternative coach they'd rather have at the moment. We've routinely asked him to rank his top 3 or top 5 active coaches, and never a response
Absolutely. I have been around during the lean years.
But Pop can still make mistakes with associated assistants, RJ being a huge one. I will say I think he left Bonner in too long with Splitter last night. I found myself flailing about watching Randolph continue to get rebounds over Bonner late. This, IMO, does not equate to Pop is a stubborn dunce.
The associated posts that believe Pop started Splitter way too late and declare this obvious due to Tiago's current form...
silly. Pop hates Tiago, etc... Just plain silly.
Seriously, just throw out a ranking.
1. Pop
2. Rivers
3. Tibs
4. Spoelstra
5. Collins
Spoelstra? That guy does not coach, he is just a baby sitter.
