    he's durable, he's athletic, he's a defense guy, he's big, he is a luxury

I'm sure Pop gets a hardon every time he writes down his name in the starting lineup IMO

Settle down. Don't fap yourself to death.

Cleveland is kicking themselves, but the Spurs have a system that allows people like Green to shine. NBA benches are full of potential, they just don't get the opportunity to show it most often, and if they do it's under a ty system and a horrible coach.

I get your point about the system. but IMO danny has surpassed that. the series vs. the Warriors was his coming out party. IMO he can really become a beacon in the Spurs a la Bowen as I said. Dude got all the tools to do this for decades to come. IMO he's been the X factor for the Spurs all playoffs.

everytime him and Kawhi are on the floor, the Spurs are pretty much unstopable.

I hope the Spurs give Danny Green a fairly lengthy contract when that time comes. I'd like to see him on the team for at least another 5-6 years. He's not ever going to be an all star, but he can be an important piece for years to come if he continues to work on his game, adding a little bit each year and doing what he does already.

I'm happy with Green's progress and tenacity.

The best thing about him is he can run the point really well. To have such a great play-maker next to Parker is an asset indeed.

I hope Green goes into coaching after he retires. He could be a great successor to Bud.

Not sure if srs, or referring to Manu.

I have to admit due to last years play-off performance, i wasnt to0 high with Green, but boy has he turned it around. He is our best 1-2 defender, he is hitting his three's, being compe ive on the boards.

He looks confident right now. Hope he keeps it up.

I'm assuming this whole thread's tongue-in-cheek. Green's actually been trending downward in my eyes since Game 2 of last series. It seems out of place to make another thread praising him now.

I guess in terms of scoring, Green's play has been less impressive compared to the 16ppg he was putting up in the first 2 GSW games...
But man, has this guy's D improved or what? I can't stop praising how well he guarded Curry. This is what we needed from him last year. Someone with activity and hustle on the defensive end, someone who could hold his own. I'd take a focused defensive Green over a softer shooting Green any day. (But to be fair, In last year's WCF he choked on both ends )

Scoring wise perhaps, but you can't ask for more than he has shown. That's the kind of player he is. That said, he looked scared last game but hit a big three. Let's just hope it doesnt go to bad to 2012 danny because of that game.

I meant Game 3. I don't really look at Green's scoring when I evaluate him. He usually gets points only when he's open, so his PPG fluctuates more than anyone else on the team. He's still be great this post-season, but he's been making more mistakes recently and has started to lose his match-up with Tony Allen. I expect people to begin to hate on him again by the time he guards Wade, Allen and James. I'm one of his biggest supporters, though, so I try to remain even about his ups and downs.

I just think he's been losing focus a lot more in recent games. He's still aggressive, which is good, but he's not in the place the Spurs need him in to have a good showing against Miami.

He's a role player. When his shots are falling he's confident. When they aren't his game suffers. He'll do well to keep his intensity up despite his shooting, and to understand that "best" is "best" whether or not you hit your last shot. Don't pass up open looks. Also I'd like to see him not bite on the up fake so often. He's the one you see flying by the shooter. There's no reason to do that, to jump to the shooter. Just get a hand up. Otherwise it's going to be either a wide open look, or as help comes the middle will be exposed and it's going to be a layup, a foul or both.

Solid player who got over his first playoff jitters from last year to be a consistent contributor. Danny gets it, he understands that if his shot isn't falling, he can still be an asset by defending, boarding, and poking balls away to ignite the break.

Danny has been a beast in the playoffs this year...very happy for him.

Not to get too far ahead of the season but I am excited about what he'll work on during the offseason. He improved his finishing ability as the season went on, it's better than early in the season. I think his defense is going to be nice too since he'll know the habits of the people he's guarding from the get go, so his +/- will be intersting to look at compared to this year (which has been a pretty successful season for him).

Aside from continuing to improve his finishing ability what skill should he add to his arsenal next?

He has low IQ, he does stupid things when he needs to make decisions. But he's a hard worker as his deffense shows.

Like I's tellin' ya'll, give him a chaaaance! But ya'lls like NO, dude sucks, cut him, he choked against OKC, he's a born choker. Well, ya'll comin' round to my view point eventually, like typical.

...not sure why I wrote that in the voice of that fat toothless apalachian inbred grandmother of the "gingers have souls" bonner clone, who's been featured on Tosh.0...I need to get some sleep.

Green's basketball IQ is actually very good. He makes great decisions all the time; they just don't all involve the ball in his hands. He sets smart screens, moves along the perimeter to maintain a passing lane and does a lot of veteran moves such as boxing out bigger guys to allow others such as Leonard to get a rebound. He's also smart on both sides during the break, and the way he pushes the defenders out of the way to let Parker and Leonard score in transition is really savvy.

Green's mental issues are more about him being too anxious than they are about him not understanding what's going on.

On a more serious note, has anyone else noticed that he's probably the most interviewed Spurs player? I'm talking about practice day interviews especially. I've become really impressed by how well spoken he is, how much he's come to represent the Spurs ethos in those interviews, in a soft spoken yet intelligent and on message way. It can't be easy to do, for a young kid like him, and it's not something you'd expect, considering this is only really his second year as a big part of what the Spurs do. It's another example of how he's pretty woven into the fabric of the team...but of course what's most important is that he's shown to be deserving of is with his play this postseason especially.

d green was 1-5 from three point range in game 3

not the best time to have a slump heading to the finals (god forbid spurs blow a 3-0 lead), most of those looks were wideeeeee open

here's hoping he doesnt hit another shooting slump at the wrong time

Green is definitely making up for his big chokejob last playoffs. Let's see if he can continue this in the Finals tbh.
