It's hilarious how moot this thread is until guys like SBM give an alternative coach they'd rather have at the moment. We've routinely asked him to rank his top 3 or top 5 active coaches, and never a response

    Doesn't fit their troll narrative.

Spoelstra? That guy does not coach, he is just a baby sitter.
    I beg to differ.

he has set up one of the most wicked exterior pressing D's without a legit big man. If we do meet them, it will be most interesting to see how we handle this without Parker getting worn down. Green, Leonard, splitter, Duncan... How many ball handlers under pressure in that group? Manu will definitely be on the floor with Tony more often.

So now present your own off the top of your head...

This is what this thread could have evolved into. A discussion of the merits and weaknesses of other coaches.

How would that D do without great defensive wings like James, Battier, and Wade, though? Chicago was always in the top 3 defensive teams during the 3 peats even if they didn't have a DPOY-caliber center; Jordan and Pippen (and later Rodman) were the defensive anchors.

Popsuckers all in a tizzy Pop's 5 year experimentation with small ball and turd tower schemes didn't pan out as expected. Many raspberry truffles and toasts of Odouls we're consumed on false premise and blind faith. Meeting sadly no longer begin with a round of fart lighting accompanied by Blake doing his best karaoke edition of Jerry Lee Lewis' "Great Balls of Fire".
    umad.

So how many rings did Pop PREVENT the Spurs from winning since 2007?

I am gonna say - conservatively - 3. This would have been going to the finals -(if they don't it up now) for ring #8 in Timmy's illustrious career - had Pop not ed it up.

    I will forgive him ---

IF the Spurs get #5 this year.

    Truth.

    /thread
Pop doesn't give a about what you think.

No one on the Spurs does.

    Truth.

Pop made a mistake by not thinking the Spurs could go back to being a good defensive team. He made a mistake by not thinking Splitter could help in that transformation. Very simply, a HOF coach made some major mistakes that alot of Spurs fans recognized.
    Credit taken.

All the Spurs are fully vaccinated.

Noah is a DPOY type center IMO. I have Tibs ahead of him.

The way Spoelstra uses these guys is key. They apply pressure at the right moments.

One would have to be a very dedicated follower of my posts and a shtick thief to post something like he did.

If the Spurs get in the Finals, then do Popovich supporters have to do damage control if the Spurs lose?

Popsuckers will never blame anything on Lord Pop - please go wash your mouth out with soap now.

If Pop s it up this time - there will be all kinds of apologists - reciting the same old tired lines...4 rings...I'll spare you the rest...

I was not expecting this team to get to the finals. I personally thought a 2nd round exit was most likely.

Were you expecting Finals at the start of the season?

This group has played some outstanding basketball, the season has been a success IMO. I would really enjoy winning a 5th, but had no expectations of doing so.
