Well atleast we already did a dry run for what will happen against the Heat.
My magic number for half time was 10. So spurs failed that first half, tbh...
Spurs need to hit those open threes. It really is that simple (always is).
Here's a crazy statistic from 90-94 the spurs went 38 games without making a 3 they went 36-2 in those games
Magic : "The Grizzlies have to make shot and stop these layups..." Yeah seems pretty straight forward....![]()
I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure Bill Simmons wrote in a column (or a mailbag) a while back about how awful Johnson is on broadcasts and that he was tarnishing his legacy with his terrible analysis...If so it must be a little strange broadcasting beside him now.
Fouls are even at 12 each. Spurs in the bonus early, Grizz fouling away from the ball. I don't think the FT disparity is quite as bad as it looks.
That's high and a bit unrealistic. This is the WCF against a top 4 NBA team on their home court with them facing elimination. It's going to be a close game and will not be a Spurs blowout win. This will be a tough 2nd half but an early run from the Spurs can really put the pressure on the Grizzlies and make them make mistakes.
He is a waste of air time. That interview with Mike Conley could have been so so much better, Magic spent half the time talking about himself. He has no talent in broadcasting, and needs to go home.
Yup. It's sad to see a legend like that out of place in a basketball conversation.
I'm actually a Simmons fan, but he's not that great there either. I don't know if he's going for crazy angles or what, because he frequently has good, solid reads in his written materials, but on-screen I mostly want to punch him in the face. Who'd have though that Jalen Rose would be the best analyst up there back when Nick Van Exel was nailing him with a towel (and he was soooooo bad)?
It was more like six seconds and it was bonners fault for not taking a timeout.
I agree in theory, but the spurs missed 4 open 3s that quarter. Should be up at least 10 based on that, IMO. They were wide open spurs offense shots.
McGrady could be checking in and trip over his warmups onto the court, and it'd still be better than what Gary's doing right now tbh.
Spurs have a real shot to put this game away in the first few minutes of the 3rd. It's not that the stars need the extra rest but just the longer they stay on the court the more chances the memphis players can screw with them. Good guys get this thing over with.
Looks like Spurs are forcing it on offense trying to put this game away leading to even open shots not going in. Work on keeping the defense aggressive, out play them on defense, and be the tougher team. Then just run your offensive sets and let the offense come to them.
I'd love to see more great spacing and aggressive play from Splitter and Diaw this half. That may have been the difference so far.
Splitter didnt log many minutes that first half. He should be ready to make big plays on both ends
