So they say when a man cries that's "awesome leaking out". Something tells me the streets of san antonio will be flooded with "awesome" when Duncan finally retires. God bless you timmy.
I loved this segment before the game. C'mon Tim... get your 5!!!

Simmons messed up on saying Duncan does not have cool commercials. Hasn't he seen the HEB commercials?
That made me cry. We are so lucky, as Spurs fans, to have first watched David Robinson, and then Tim Duncan - greatness times 2 - that doesn't happen very often, and it's going to be a sad, sad day when Timmy walks off the court for the last time. Then I will really cry.
so is he ready to admit he was a ing idiot for thinking the pandas would beat us?
Tbh, I was excited when I clicked on this thread because I thought Simmons wrote an article about Duncan.
Simmons writing >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Simmons video
when finley hugs tim and tells him he loves him and thanks him after winning the le![]()
Ya, the video was cool, but wasn't exactly great. He did it with very little emotion and it's like he told the producers "one take only".
The idea behind it was cool, but it wasn't all that high quality IMO and it seems as if he did it so he could point back to Spurs fans that "hey, no matter how much I hate sometimes, I did that video so I am exempt!"
He's actually said the same stuff before in his podcasts, tbh
I know - but it's like he wanted to do a more mainstream thing. He's said way more backhanded stupid stuff than he has good with regards to the Spurs.
It's that awkward time when ESPN is forced to turn its hype machine on for the Spurs for a few days until the Heat make the finals.
Simmons always felt this way about Duncan.
better than kobe... better than shaq. I could replay that part all day only taking restroom and food breaks.
That is my take also. Love to hear him on a podcast or read his articles. He is a sports fan, Boston first, and only a moderate commentator. Big props to him for picking the Heat and continuing the previous rounds bad picks.
Bill, you have turned a corner.
He has an entire library of articles so that he can do that. Reading him since 02, I would have always guessed that SA is is second favorite team.
The day Tim retires is the day San Antonio has an unofficial holiday.
he probably has that 12 jersey locked up in his bedroom.
0.4 fisher and manu fouling dirk, sonofa....
Exactly, he's always complimentary about the Spurs. He, like a lot of the media this post-season, simply over-estimated the Grizz and underestimated our team. It's no great crime.
Simmons speaks the truth, though. I don't know if we would have beaten the 2004 Pistons or the 2006 Heat in the Finals, but it would have been nice to have the shot.
Oh, well...5!
Just watching this makes me![]()
