cHeat: How many of those points in the paint were from fastbreaks?
Got this from a Heat poster on another board..
Game 1
Pacers: 32
Heat: 25
Game 2
Pacers: 32
Heat: 26
Game 3
Pacers: 44
Heat: 28
Game 4
Pacers: 33
Heat: 27
Now, before some smart-ass comments on Indiana's style of play and their tendency to pound the paint, here are the points in the paint numbers..
Game 1
Pacers: 48
Heat: 60
Game 2
Pacers: 40
Heat: 40
Game 3
Pacers: 36
Heat: 52
I understand Joey Crawford's job tonight was to extend the series, since the Spurs already swept, you can't have 2 sweeps in the conference finals, and more Lebron on TV is always good for ratings, tbh..however, this was an issue even before this game..
Hopefully games 5 and 6 are officiated fairly, tbh..
cHeat: How many of those points in the paint were from fastbreaks?
Does anybody remember a more lopsided series in terms of officiating, tbh?..
Indiana and Miami were 6th and 7th in FT/FGA during the regular season, and 10th/14th in defensive FT/FGA..there shouldn't be a disparity of this nature, tbh..
haven't seen these many tears since Kobe stepped on a pressure cooker tbh![]()
I agree that the Pacers have been favored, but maybe the reason the points in the paint is low for the Pacers is because fouls have been called, so 2 pointers in the paint instead become FT attempts. The 12 foul discrepancy for the series is quite large though.
I'd love it if the Spurs got at least 25 FTAs every game.
Maybe, but until somebody analyzes the fouls(which they won't, since it's against the Heat), the point remains valid..Indiana is getting a ton of calls..
heat low post defense is overrated and non existent, nothing but a foul machine trading 2 for 1 baskets...
paint poinst include transition layups which dont always lead to fouls ... and the heat excell at ...
Harlem, reaching ...
I just checked the numbers and Miami barely has more fastbreak opportunities than Indiana..the Heat have 4 extra fastbreak points, included in the FTAs and points in the paint stats..
Any more theories?..
A Heat fan crying about the refs is like a Nazi begging a Jew for forgiveness.
The Heat foul when the bigs get the ball in the paint to stop dunks. If nothing else, the fact that the Heat score more in the paint backs that up, as the free throws they get from fouls in the paint aren't included.
Stop being pussies and go to the damn basket, Superfriends.
Free throws from fouls in the paint are considered points in the paint.
Jump-shooting teams don't get as many foul calls. I know the Heat drive a lot. But the Pacers do, too, and instead of shooting as many threes, they give the ball to Hibbert and West. I think if you took out fouls on bigs, the Heat are probably favored in the free-throw disparity.
OP would suck venom out of Lebron's thigh if he got bit by a snake
Perhaps the Heat fouled the Pacers more.
LOL maybe because the Pacers do their work in the post and the Heat shoot jumpers all day?![]()

Meh, i thought the officiating was fine.
That said, the officiating does not favor Miami which for some reason your average Casual fans aka kobe fan seems to believe.
Heat fans crying over the refs. Hilarious. I guess they have already forgotten Wade's fest at the FT line in the 2006 Finals? Bandwagon fans!
Miami has had more points in the paint by a substantial margin, try again..
Whatever reason is provided, an 8.8 per game FT disparity is massive, especially for a team that apparently gets all the calls according to NBA fan..
Spurs had more points in the paint than Memphis in Game 4 and still had fewer FTs. Er?
