It's not like it slipped off the first page. It's not even far down.

Just saw this on TNT and thought this was kinda cool. Always liked Dr. J, even more-so now.
When asked about who's going to win the Finals:
"San Antonio, other than Philadelphia, is my favorite team in the NBA. Tim Duncan has pretty much, individually, been my favorite player since George Gervin retired. Just the way he goes about doing and taking care of business night in and night out. And, he's groomed Tony Parker in the same mold. Tony's been a professional player since he was 15 or 16, so he's been at this 15 or 16 years, and he looks like he's getting ripe with age. So, they're going to be formidable. I think last year was a fluke when they got swept, when they lost four games in a row and surprised the whole basketball world, and that's not something that's going to happen again."

I was already creating it before he posted it then cause I literally started creating the thread right when he said it. It just took me a long time to post it. My b.
It's OK. You're not going to or anything...at least not for this.
It's cool, you actually have quotes
This, the other thread was done half-ass.
Without question the nastiest playoff series in San Antonio history was the 1976 ABA Semifinals against Dr. J's Nets. A bunch of players on the Spurs and Nets had been traded for each other at the beginning of the year, and there was a huge on-court fight in Game 4 (no suspensions, though).
Tim Duncan was born the day after that series ended.
Basketball purists or fans of the game like the Spurs.
I will always remember that hilarious Dr.J & Duncan "TROPHY LOVE" video years ago before the NBA finals (I forgot what yr that was, 2003?)
...that was so awesome!!
lol yea I think it was 05, manu was in it too iirc..
i see there are two threads on this but it was great to hear Doc say that. one of my favorite players giving my favorite team major props. I know Doctor J always had massive hands, hopefully Kawhi can pull off some of those amazing tricks that Dr. J was known for.
TD has a similar on-court demeanor to DJ. And Ice.
Old school cool.
Pretty ironic that a player who symbolizes flash and flair is a purist. Don't get me wrong, it's a good irony.![]()
Nah Kawhi is athletic but Dr. J had some finesse in his game that can not be imitated
Destiny.
Exactly. In the future they will look back on these Spurs as one of the greatest franchises of all time, right up their with the Celtics, Lakers, and Bulls.
Yup...the Doctor just giving props where props are due.![]()
Doc knows that fools like K. Bryant are wannabees. But Tim is the quintessential professional. Priceless words from Doc. Honestly, the respect Tim is getting this postseason is kind of worth waiting six years for.
DR J!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO DOUBT a legend and a basketball purist.
batmanu thank you for opening this thread
That is some sheer awesomeness
Thanks OP
They were supposed to be talking about their love for the trophy and their accomplishments then when it was time for Dr. J to talk, Duncan suddenly said " blah! blah! blah!"Hilarious !
I hope I am right.
Dr. J is pure class.
He's like 80 and makes Shaq, Charles and Kenny look like 3 got bums off the streets next to him.
