I think Miami had an easier path. You can make a case that the Bucks were a better team than the Lakers, but it's no contest between the injury rattled Bulls and the hot Warriors. When comparing Griz and Pacers I bet any team would have picked the later to play against.
But in the end it doesn't matter. You can only beat the teams you play against.
Why does everyone forget about the '87 Lakers? They had the easiest route to the Finals in Western Conference history. They played the 8th seed, 7th seed, and 5th seed - NONE of those teams were a fifty win team. In fact, only one of them was even able to manage a .500 record. Look at those SRS numbers...laughably bad
1st round: 37-45 Denver Nuggets (8th seed) SRS of -1.14
2nd round: 42-40 Golden State Warriors (5th seed) SRS of -2.53
3rd round: 39-43 Seattle SuperSonics (7th seed) SRS of 0.08
if it was so easy, how come ur team isnt in the playoffs?
Easy is having to play in the eastern conference all season and end up playing scrubs in the playoffs and on top of that getting help of the refs. Dont worry daddy stern will take good care of yall lol.
Spurfan can't even admit they had an easy run to the Finals?![]()
Easiest path ever to the Finals was probably the 2002-03 Nets, tbh.... the East was complete garbage that year, literally one team in the entire conference even won 50 games![]()
pansy ass opponents Spurs had were the knicks and nets pretty much..Lakers was sixers, nets, orlando
Ah...the last resort....you had an easy path, completely ignoring your own previous finals runs.
Desperate times I guess.
The path wasn't that hard, I'd agree, but then sweeping two of the three teams and losing only twice in 14 games against all above .500 teams isn't easy at all.
However, the hardest thing any team this year has done is the Lakers finding a way to spend 120m on team that gets crushed in the 1st round by a fool's gold team like the Spurs.
$128 million
That's even harder. It's almost like Brewster's Millions. Buss's Millions... he had to find a way to piss off 128 million without having anything to show for it.
lol what?
Me and a lot of Spurs fans saw this coming from miles away. In timvp's pussy thread I said that Parker had been torching the Grizzlies in recent years and that the lack of shooting from Memphis would be their downfall 'cause it would allow us to defend them like we defended the Lakers. A lot of us knew it was going to be easy work, tbh.
Miami will lay the smackdown and this temporary Spurs euphoria will die with it, tbh..it's a shame the West was so weak this playoffs..Stern should do something do swap regular season teams from the West for playoff-level teams from the East..it's only fair..
This is true. Both teams had very easy paths to the finals but I think both teams are championship-caliber teams.
Still...the Kobe-less lakers, Warriros and Grizzlies might be the easiest path coming out of the west in the last...well...ever.
The Kobe fortified Lakers struggled all season to get above .500, so you can can the backdoor attempt at sucking Kobe's .
Why are Heat fans a bunch of gots starting threads that are not based in reality?
The Bucks, A Nate Robinson led team, the Pacers with no superstar. Wow...talk about a cake walk.
It is what it is I guess...Heatfan= got
The Spurs path: TWO Blck coaches and Mike D'ant
ni. Own up son.
There are probably no Heat fans on this site in reality.
The fact that a person can easily create another user name and select any team they want is a testament to that probability, as most new names you'll see are alts of existing members. They look for anything they can find to entertain the chosen few, so that they will be exalted among these few, and in turn create a more lasting name for themselves.
You cannot troll effectively from the loser's seat. It's why names like Kool, Luva and Dale have left.
Usually theres at least three championship caliber teams in the west. Even if one goes down due to injury, you still have to play the other one eventually.
That wasnt the case this year.
