Political Correctness is a horrible thing. If people act ignorant, tell them they're wrong and move on; but this whole 'let's make a big deal out of it'-kind of at ude is just as wrong and annoying.
Also, I loved that he said 'yall mfers don't watch us all year anyway'....it shows growing sentiment from the small market teams over how the media treats them with bias. Imagine if a reporter asked Duncan the same question about having a great defensive game. I know Duncan would be much more polite, but you know he'd be thinking the exact same thing Hibbert had the balls to say.
I almost went away with respect for Hibbert.....at least the guy says what he really feels. What good are these post-game interviews if they're just song and dance and no substance? Media will probably blow this up chastising him, but just to get ratings. Who is in the wrong in that situation?

I like Roy Hibbert and the mother er comment made me smile, but the no comment and the reactions here are pretty sad. It's not about 'pussification' (sigh) or being overly sensitive or political correctness. I could go on for great length about the oppression of minorities, including LGBTQ people, or about what has been done to gay people but it would be lost on assholes like many of the responders in this thread.
A suspension would be entirely unwarranted, but a fine certainly is. What bothers me is the ingrained nature of slur. It doesn't make me angry, just sad. He really might be able to benefit from sitting down for awhile with Jason Collins. Very sad.
It's a shame he won't play in game 7...They win a possible elimination game and they are wound up so tight, then sent right in to answer questions before they can calm down. Some of the questions asked are stupid! David Stern got Stu Jackson to do the dirty instead of Joey Crawford for game 7.
