Wade's been done for a while. he's down to maybe showing up for a game once every now and then. whoever gets to the Finals will be raped by the Spurs in 5

I still think Miami wins this in 7. I can't imagine Stern wanting a Spurs vs Pacers final, not on his last year. but who knows. i'd take more pride if Spurs beat the cHeat, but it would be a tougher battle as well.

The likely scenarios are Indiana in 6 or Miami in 7. I have to agree about Stern not letting the Pacers make it to the Finals because he knows that a Pacers-Spurs Finals would severely damage the NBA right now. He will do whatever it takes to get Superfriends back to the Finals. With that being said, it's up to Superfriends to take advantage of Stern's help. If Lebron fouls out in the last minute of the 4th quarter again and Wade travels with less than 26 seconds left in the game, then Superfriends is ed.

That's what you said about the Mavs in 2011 and look how that turned out. Too confident and ignorant but that's how bandwagon Heat fans are.

Hibbert will get in early foul trouble. A ton of calls will go against anybody not named Lebron to keep the total foul situation even. If Indiana can get past that, then they will have earned the finals invite the hard way.

The foul situation will work as follows:

Early fouls on bigs for Indiana. That gets them on the bench early. More fouls on the Miami stars later in the 3rd when they aren't as concerned. There will be a bevy (yes an entire bevy) of out of bounds possession calls that go the wrong way and will not be reviewed, early in the game. This is basically a turnover that's not considered a turnover because in reality the ball belongs to the other team, and no foul was called to get the ball to the target team. The same is true for traveling and other calls that result in a turnover that aren't reviewable. They will allow contact and swallow their whistles early, but tighten up after the half. This allows Miami to manhandle Hibbert and West and not get penalized, however when the 2nd half rolls around and the Pacers try to go into lockdown mode, the calls will be many and often. Lebron gets at least 12FTA, Wade gets the same or more. The Pacers will get FTA but these will be in situations where there would have been 2pts anyhow whereas the Heat just fling themselves at the rim and go to the line without any chance to actually make a basket.

All this will mean is that the Heat will be able to have worse games and be closer at the end of quarters. The Pacers will have to do what a challenger in boxing has to do to win a ring in another country... knock out his opponent. If they leave it to the judges (refs in this case) they don't stand even a puncher's chance. They will have to come out of the gate firing on all cylinders and bury the Heat so bad that the Heat spend every available referee intervention possible just to avoid total embarrassment, then are required to actually play basketball and get back into the game.

I see the Heat winning this, I see hard fouls not be called, I see Lebron flopping again and getting the call again. I see David West getting a technical foul, possibly him or Stephenson getting ejected. I see Paul George being shut down through rough, physical play.
