If he wanted more time (presumably to showcase himself for his next big contract) he should have played better. Seriously. You guys should hear the Bay Area radio when they talk Warriors basketball. They have Jefferson and Bierdins locked up for a combined 20 million+ next season. The amount of vitriol about those two players is astounding (somewhat deservedly, but still). They routinely call Bierdins the softest player in the league on a team with Richard Jefferson and David Lee. Bierdins is probably the most hated man in the state as far as basketball is concerned, and Jefferson isn't far behind them. They almost broke into tears when they were talking about RJ's performance this playoffs vs. San Antonio.

Pop doesn't play mind games. He might use psychological motivation to get you to play better, but he doesn't use mind games. He's as straight-forward a coach as there is in the league.
