Monroe just nailed him to the cross during the press conference with a hindsight question about substantial sanctions. He's got Stern running for his life behind the microphone.

Thought Stern actually handled the question about small market / big market teams pretty well. The league hasn't done a poor job of promoting smaller market teams, it's the networks that cover the league.
Monroe's question:
"David, Gregg Popovich has managed his team in such a way that it is now in position to win a 5th le in 14 years. As a coach who has had great success over 16 years, he obviously felt the need back on November 29th to rest four players when the Spurs played here in Miami. Yes, it was a TNT game, but his greater goal seemed to be long term to win a le. Do you regret penalizing the Spurs so severely for taking an action that now appears to be strategically sound?"
All Stern could do was blurt out "are you reading Mike?" Then he simply said "no." Then as they were about to go on to another question Stern said "hold on a minute" and proceeded to ramble using the same bull he said when everything went down.

yeah!That took balls by Monroe, but I'm glad he threw that back in Stern's face because he deserves it...
Way to go Monroe. I really like Stern overall, but he is a stubborn bully and he was dead wrong on this.

That video was one giant goosebump. One of the best I've ever seen, I loved the "best PF, best 6th man, best player ever". Also liked the old shots of Manu, Pop, Tony, and Tim transition to newer pics. Can't wait til it's posted here.
On Stern, it was actually quite an interesting presser and almost had a melancholic tone to it. I don't think his successor will be any better, IMO. Maybe it's the beer talking.
