This point alone will show everyone how great the Spurs really are when we win on sunday and go up 2-0....and on their court for both wins no less. We simply out-match them. No other way to put it. Everyone knew the Heat had problems with teams with good front courts and Duncan drove the point home in game 1. Its the same reason Hibbert and the Pacers took them to 7 games and the same reason the Heat cried when Westbrook got hurt because they would rather face the Thunder small ball play. Get ready, Stern...Spurs going up 2-0 and beating the Heat two in a row and coming back to SA to finish it in front of Spurs fans. Indiana lacked the coaching or experience to finish the Heat in the ECF's and that was their only downfall...Spurs wont make that mistake.

That's alright cause if the Spurs do win it they'll play the "Miami won 3,4,5 last year's Finals"

They're also in the Eastern conference. And weren't playing the Spurs at their peak.

The Warriors never lost two straight Games in the playoffs until games 5 & 6.
The Grizzlies never lost at home in the playoffs and won four straight games in two series and the Spurs swept them.
The Spurs aren't exactly a team that follows the norm.

Desert- losing two in a row in the playoffs for the Warriors and losing two in a row since 5 months ago like Miami is a big difference.

And they're 10-0 after losses since January. I think Spurs will lose game 2. Miami will go balls to the wall for this one. It's game 7 for them. Spurs need to win all 3 at home imo.

I dont see any overreaction here, Brunodf...if anything...people were worried the Spurs would be rusty for game 1 and now after game one...think the Spurs should play even better in game 2 and Miami should be worried...which is a reasonable analysis.

Spurs were 20-0 then lost 4 in a row last year.

Miami's streaks against other teams don't mean anything. They didn't play the Spurs 7 times in a row. I'm not trying to diminish Miami's 27 game winning streak, because it actually was very impressive (the first half of it in particular), but rather than care about that , let's look at their recent history:

Lost game to and then struggled against a very shorthanded and hobbled Bulls team. Got pushed to 7 against the Pacers and were lucky to win game 1. Both those teams are worse than the Spurs (not being arrogant, just saying the truth).

The Heat struggled with them. They ain't gonna mow down the Spurs. But even if the Spurs don't win 1 in a row, it doesn't matter. They won game 1. If they win every other game they win the series anyway.

tbh before playoff matchups were determined, I wanted the Spurs to play either Houston of Golden State for that exact same reason. The Spurs not only got into a offensive share-the-ball-play-within-the-system rythym, they also got into a defensive rythym after the Warriors lit em up.

who cares what happened in the past?
it hasn't happened until it happens.

none of those matter because they weren't against us.

you got that right defensive rhythm really what GSW gave us and also being greedy on the road the feeling of almost winning game 4 in oakland then losing it really woke up the spurs to keep they feet on the pedal coz they dont want that feeling of going back to the opponents gym when they could be resting already if they won game 4

Wishful thinking... the media will focus on how overrated Miami was, and how they under-perform in the playoffs.

Screw statistics and all those streaks. It's playoff ball, doesn't matter if you won 10, 20 or 30 in a row, or lost 5 in a row, if you can't win 4 out of 7.
