They already are. The difference is that PC games aren't really resellable the way console games are. But just look at Steam. remember when Half-life 2 came out a lot of people couldn't even play the game the first weekend because Steam was down. All the while I was playing my hacked copy. It didn't make sense why somebody had to log onto the internet to play a single player game they purchased in a store.

I honestly don't know how Steam has changed over the years, but I won't be buying the new Xbox for the same reasons.

Steam is much different, totally digital distribution. I don't play pc games anymore, but I did like it. Then again I usually just played multi.

Well all I know is that you had to log into it to play a single player game you bought at the store. That was enough to ensure that I never use it again, even if it's useful now.

I am not a fan of all this DRM, however the thing Steam has going for it are the deals. I will gladly take the DRM when im paying 75% off for a game. That makes it worth it. 60 bucks plus DRM, not a fan

Some E3 2013 rumors regarding the XBOX One from NeoGaf:

-Microsoft is paying third parties to not mention PS4 versions of les. If a game is not explicitly said to be Xbox One exclusive, it isn't.

-Microsoft has no strategy or support plan for game rentals. They will also talk more about their DRM at GamesCom

-The cloud is primarily a DRM tool. Microsoft approached third parties with this plan. EA and Ubisoft love it, but Activision isn't nearly as supportive

-Mirror's Edge will appear at Microsoft's conference

-World of Tanks is coming to Xbox One

-You need Xbox Live Gold to play f2p games

-Dead Rising 3 and exclusive DLC for another Capcom game are at the Xbox One conference

-There is no paywall for Sony's online

-Sony will not address DRM at all at E3

Meat Gear has been the highlight so far. Looked great, though I wasn't crazy about the setting (re: the worst part of MGS IV)...but you can totally ride a horse - stealthily.

Exactly. It doesn't make sense that a fighting game that most of the new generation of gamers have no clue about is going to be a one console exclusive.

Oh well, hope it comes out on PC at least.

Sony just announced that an internet connection is not required to play PS4 games, there will be no restrictions on the used game market, and indie developers will be allowed to self publish. Common sense prevails.
