All I want is the price of the new consoles. I hope 349.99 to 400 so I can buy one after the first price drop.

Sons Sony anihilated the compe ion (As if it had one to begin with)

Console doesn't look the greatest either but 10x better than that of Xbox 1.

It has been confirmed that Sony will NOT have restrictions on any games and used games will be supported.

    The price tag? $399.

Yes, The Xbox stands no chance.

Since everything else about the PS4 is superior to Xbox One, I probably shouldn't care about this, but not a fan of PS+ membership required for online play. One reason I stuck with PS3 over the years was no yearly subscription to play online. At least PS+ gives members free games and discounts all the time though.

Maybe they'll make it up by giving us free movies once in a while. I mean, the free games already are good enough but since you need to pay for online they might give us more.

I just hope they keep it at 50 bucks per year. I'm already a PSN+ so paying 50 yearly is par for the course for me so this really doesn't effect me much.

Let me just say, I think PS+ is worth $50/year without it being necessary for online multiplayer. I've got a few friends that are subscribers and I'm always blown away by the amount of free games they get for being PS+ members. The main factor for me deciding to go with the Playstation 3 full-time (once upon a time I had both 360 and PS3) was that the PSN membership was free. I was playing basically the same games, so it was a no-brainer to go with the one that didn't charge me to use its service. The only thing that's different now is I don't really play that many multiplayer games anymore. I used to be a big Madden and COD fanboy, but COD has been getting worse with each game that has come out after the original Black Ops. This year I'm going to Redbox the game first and see if it's any good before buying it. MW3 was at least playable and worth hanging onto. When I play Black Ops II, I enjoy it for about 30 seconds each time and swiftly change gears into wanting to kill myself. Such a bad game. And I haven't touched Madden in years. I played the most recent one at a friend's house a few weeks back and scored zero points for the first time in my life.

I don't mind paying for PS+. It's really not that big a deal, I mean, a $50 payment once per year? I wish I could get that deal on like, any one of my other bills.

tbh they can keep adding fees/stipulations like this right up to the line MS drew and get away with it.

Yeah, I know. But I can't stop hoping it will somehow miraculously come together one of these days. I want a new Team Ico game.

    http://www.theverge.com/2013/6/11/44...to-enforce-drm

Less than 24 hours ago, Sony Computer Entertainment of America president Jack Tretton was met with uproarious applause after revealing that PlayStation 4 disc-based games can be freely given to friends and purchased on the used market. "PlayStation 4 won't impose any new restrictions on used games," were his exact words. One day later, that message is already mired in confusion. During an interview with Game Trailers, Tretton reiterated that Sony's first-party releases won't carry any unordinary DRM restrictions, only to later clarify that third-party publishers like Electronic Arts and Activision are free to chart their own course.

"Well, I mean, we create the platform, we've certainly stated that our first-party games are not going to be doing that, but we welcome publishers and their business models to our platform," he said, according to Polygon. "There's gonna be free-to-play, there's gonna be every potential business model on there, and again, that's up to their relationship with the consumer, what do they think is going to put them in the best fit. We're not going to dictate that, we're gonna give them a platform to publish on."

"The DRM decision is going to have to be answered by the third parties, it's not something we're going to control, or dictate, or mandate, or implement," Tretton said. The executive may have been referring to the redemption codes / online passes some publishers (including Sony) have routinely required for multiplayer gaming and other features in current-gen les.

With the Xbox One, Microsoft has built daily authentication checks into the console itself; owners will be unable to play offline games once they've gone 24 hours without an internet connection. For its part, clearly Sony won't be taking things that far, but we've reached out for clarification and further details on the scope of what publishers can choose to do with DRM.
    walking back a bit there...

Which seems reasonable, really. I'm still satisfied with Sony's decision to not add their own level of asshole on top of whatever independent publishers choose to do.

As amusing as all of the XBox hate has been, my biggest problem with all of the restrictions they've imposed is that I don't think those should be decisions made by a console. Sony's position with the PS4 seems to be more likely to allow game developers to determine the actions they deem appropriate and to allow gamers to make their own choices about which games they want to play as a result. In comparison to Microsoft's model, which takes away both of those choices, that's plenty good enough for me at this point.

There's nothing wrong with having hope for that game to "come together one of these days"... like you said. I'm in the same boat as you. If Mirror's Edge's sequel can come out, so can the Last Guardian. But if it is ever announced, it seems more like a TGS announcement than a E3 annoucement imo.

Saying all that, I have some bad news.

    This is as of today:

    http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/11/th...-is-on-hiatus/

The Last Guardian is "on hiatus," Sony CEO Jack Tretton told Game Trailers.

"We got so many projects out there from so many great teams, projects never ultimately go away," Tretton said. "So The Last Guardian is certainly not going away, but it's on hiatus right now."

Last we heard, The Last Guardian designer Fumito Ueda said the game was still in development, but Sony controlled any actual launch plans. The Last Guardian has been on (and off) our radar since E3 2009, when it was announced for PS3, coming from the team behind Ico and Shadow of the Colossus.

True, but the bigger publisher's stance on used games is pretty clear cut
