Scenarios like these have encouraged the NBA to work on a new statistic called the Effective Defensive Rate (eDEF%) to better measure defensive contribution. At its core, the statistic represents the percentage of defensive possessions that end in good outcomes for the defense when a given player is on the floor. Good outcomes for the defense are things like missed shots and turnovers, while the bad outcomes are made shots and free throws. If a player has an eDEF% above 50%, then he forces more good outcomes (for his team) than bad. The higher the eDEF%, the more good defensive possessions the player produces and the stronger he is as a defensive player.
But the statistic is more than a simple ratio; it weighs defensive outcomes based on historical implications. That is, eDEF% realizes that LeBron James, Chris Bosh, and the other Heat players on the floor did a good job of forcing Parker to take a tough shot. Had Parker's shot missed, the Heat players would have been given more credit than if they had allowed Parker to snake his way into the paint but missed a layup, or allowed him to kick the ball to Danny Green for an open corner three, that he missed (don't worry, we'll get to this). Since Parker's shot went in, we still penalize the Heat, but more often than not, that shot would miss, and we would give the Heat praise for good defense. Essentially, this statistic determines which defensive possessions lead to stops more often, and weighs those possessions accordingly.
Sorry... I should have known some dumb would take 5 seconds to look, and notice the aberration of a player who's only played 15 minutes. I'll include some quotes of what really matters from the article:

Cool stat to add to the mix. Also pretty crazy that Tiago truly seems to be one of those "box scores don't tell the story" players. Before the finals, I believe in the playoffs in all the Spurs wins Tiago played 23+MPG. In losses? Only 14 or less on average. Spurs are better with Tiago on the floor.

gets on in every post and by every fan
in every advanced statistic hes basically top 3 and he helped rejeuvenate Duncans career by taking a lot of pressure off him instead of making Duncan carry the turds loads as well as his own

The eIFP% (effective Internet Feud Potential) for Blind Witness is 58.56%. GSH has an eIFP% of 57.66%. The league average for eIFP% is 46% so you have two superstars really going head-to-head in this situation.

Haha - although with the Spurs in the finals my eDPG% (DPG's Drinks Per Game) has gone up.
The sample size is very small for everyone, don't be emo about it. TMac rules deal with it.
Splitter is very underrated. Kawhi has been doing an excellent job on James, and in the playoffs in general. Some NBA writers just blame bad shooting by LBJ.. As a defensive starting unit, Splitter, Duncan, Kawhi, Green, and Parker at the top in the league is shocking.
I think there is a flaw in those numbers. I believe I've been highly overrated. My sample size is obviously too small for such computations to be accurate.

Our frontcourt is great defensively and Pop shouldn't play small, nothing new here.
It just shows who knows basketball and who doesn't know basketball. The people who look at the boxscore and say Tiago is a scrub don't know basketball.
