I have been a drama queen, but you have been a delusional Manu apologist too! Since before the playoffs began! ADMIT IT! I agree I have enjoyed the ride but me being a drama queen would mean to me you are a delusional Manu fan! We both can play at that name calling game. Bottom line is we both want a 5th le! HERE! AND NOW! We are both on the same boat! I wish Manu would join us on this ride! But Emmanuel so far has yet to show in these finals for a good game! I want us to win the next two and if Manu goes off I will will cry and laugh! I want the Spurs to win it all! Manu has been bad though.
You're incorrect on that. The difference between you and me are expectations. I have adjusted to the fact that Manu is a 36 year old guy playing on a ultra-compe ive league. I understand who Manu is. He's going to have some great games interspersed here and there against the middle-tier teams of the league, and be a serviceable second unit guy playing more on basketball experience than actual talent. He's also taken on a role that's less demanding physically, but allows him to remain important in the team.

You know he's not looking to score 15-20 points, because he's not even taking 10+ shots.

Other than that, we all want to win! I hope between him and Pop figure something out to get him on a better position to be more aggressive. We're going to need it.

    Fine if he can't score...

but that doesn't mean he has to make bad decisions with the ball, basically pissing possessions away

and putting the Spurs in a vulnerable position at the same time.

It's cool if he only scores 5 points

but he is directly contributing to broken offense leading to transition buckets for Miami which gets their players in rhythm

His miscues are being enhanced in the damage it causes because of the timing and affects on multiple aspects of the game.

    He is killing the team.
Hes the best we have. Who else is gonna help Parker carry some of the load running the offense...Green, Neal, Joseph? He makes some dumb TOs for sure but he gets the team plenty of open looks as well. Hes giving us all he has (even if it isnt much) why hate on the guy ?

My arguments hold no substance? But I bet his numbers prove me right! RIGHT? Okay. I expect him to be okay now yes, as he got 30 plus a few times last years playoffs, but now he can't get 15 or near that....... That seems I am right, he is done. I want him to go off for a game and shut all of us UP! I wish he would! GOD YES please let that happen! I want this le! PERIOD!
In a good amount of your posts earlier you were taking the time to personally bash Manu. I have no problem with you criticizing his performance, but when you start calling Manu himself out, that's when you've crossed the line; which you have sucessfully done.

I bet you're one of those classy fans that talks about Timmy whenever he has a subpar performance in a game.

The way he plays that trap/rush on the initial pick is predictable and that's on Manu. He goes left and either tries again or backs off trying to force them out and splits a pass in between.. there is no ball rotation it's easy to see where he is going and splitter is garbage unless he's wide open and even that's not a gimmie.
That's what we've run all season long. Add that he's not naturally a PG. I'm sure Manu would love to play SG some, and take on some people one on one... but we don't have a backup PG.

Okay, well maybe it's on Pop for not adding a new wrinkle. I honestly think Diaw could be a big X Factor because he has run the point before and he can handle the ball, I'd throw McGrady in the mix but that won't happen. I'd love to see Manu come off a few screens and take a few jump shots or drive the lane, slash etc.. There needs to be this sort of adjustment in order to get him in the game, the fact that his first point of contact is 20 feet away from the basket is probably what's making him take those crappy 3's. This can be fixed, he doesn't look like the Manu of old but I will not concede to the fact that he can't hit shots, he's just taking poor shots.

    sigh... I'm mostly just venting,

and not even trying to hate on manu, I'm just trying to make sense of how he is playing

It's like he's being careless and not really giving it his all

    to me

with the type of plays he is settling for

it's not winning wanting to be a champion basketball

    it's like here goes whatever

He's frustrated I get that... but he's doing more harm then good.

    That's the bottom line.

Manu has not so far or near it, thats all I am saying! I am a realy fan! But for you to tell me I talk about this or that is a joke, stop it and stop deflecting this on me! PERIOD!

Sean Cagney, do me a favor, shut the up, lay down the beer and go to bed. You will be fresh tomorrow and then realize how you became a huge tonight
But I told the truth though? And you can not stand it! I bet thats the case in point! Manu has sucked and that is the truth, whether you accept it or not! TRUTH! Call me names, but it's true! You know it too.

And for the billionth time I have to tell you that your expectations for Manu are too damn high at this point in his career, plus, he's facing the league's toughest peremiter D. Think about it. If you were in Manu's shoes could you do any better? I'm sure as Manu is playing his heart out, but he's just really started to regress. He's old. That's just the way it is. I take any good performance from Manu as a bonus. But if he plays lousy, well, just get used to it. That's just the way it is, and yall need to get acustomed to that now. Manu can't live up to yall's unrealistic billing. Sorry. Leave him the alone.

Pop tried hard early in the season to make Neal the backup PG (remember det one? ). Didn't work. DeColo and Joseph tried out for the spot, and neither really took it. That basically left Manu as the de-facto backup PG. With Tony beasting, is wasn't that big of a deal, but now that Tony is hurt, we're kinda screwed. We need Manu the SG, and we don't have a backup PG. I'll let Pop figure out what the solution to that is. I'm on the 'give 10 mins to T-Mac as backup PG and see what he has' wagon, tbh

Then why are so many relying on Manu now? I am not? I feel what we get from him is a bonus! DO I want to him to be better yeh! But will he? I hope so. He is what he is now, which is an average role player who will not make or break a series, period.

Sometimes I wonder if Sean Cagney even enjoyed the ride... it was all a big drama even before the playoffs started.

The Spurs already went way beyond expectations this season. This whole thing is one big gravy train. Sure, it would be sweet as if we can pull it off, but this been a great season regardless.

Manu could the bed from here on out, and I frankly couldn't care less... It's just been great to see the ole big 3 on one more big dance.

I just don't see Pop doing that but it would make the most sense since he has experience and if he's just running PnR its not too complex for T-Mac to handle.

    absolutely.

Especially when a team like Miami is running on all cylinders like last night. We're the heavy underdogs in this series and to be frank, we're doing a commendable job, banged up and all.

I think Pop can think of something at least I hope so, it would be a real big folly on his part to just do nothing and expect shots to fall. Last night was not about making shots, the opportunity to take smart shots was cut short by ineffective ball movement in the 2nd half. Pop better come up with something better, something where Manu can get some shots that are makeable.

I thought Pop was pretty concise in the press conference... turnovers. That's why I think there's not going to be many changes. The obvious one is the starting lineup if Miller keeps starting, and that can be a pretty big shift or not, depending if it's Neal starting or Manu starting. If it's Manu it changes the whole dynamic of the second unit. I'm actually leaning that Pop will go the conservative route and start Neal, and keep going with the same plan. But you never know.

Turnovers didn't help but they weren't the reason for the stagnant offense when the 2nd unit comes in. I agree Neal should probably start but there needs to be a 1-2 punch in the 2nd unit and if Neal is not in the 2nd unit I don't know where we'll get the scoring, Miami figured out how to with Tiago and he's a mental midget, he won't get tough overnight. Despite the turnovers we were in the game but just couldn't score when we had to and couldn't get defensive stops.

I agree 100%. I just don't think Pop is ready to change yet.
