He said, "Manu needs to be more aggressive next game."
We all laughed at him.
He said, "Manu being forced to play PG and be a distributor takes him out of his natural role a 2 guard and affects his scoring prowess."
We told him to stop making excuses for Manu's poor play and accept the fact he's done.
Boy, were we wrong.
What a ing call, Nono.
El was right about everything EXCEPT ....
"Manu was OK" last game ...
Manu plays like a TOSB but you know he'll show up at least for one game of the series.
yeah yeah, i've already given that wop his props. he's a top 10 poster, and his childlike faith in Manu has paid off. I still think he is wrong to say Manu was playing OK, but clearly Pop saw that Manu needs to be off the ball so he can create great situations for himself or others. happy for Manu and Nono, but we still need to win this series.
Only worry going forward is that Manu hasn't had a good road playoff game since the Bush administration, but in any event, even if he s himself these next two games, he did his job and got the Spurs two extra chances to deliver the knockout blow.
All you can ask from a 35 year old.
well no manu needs to be more aggressive. nice call
Up to TD/TP to deliver the ship now... we already won one on the road this series... gotta put the pressure on them early in Game 6 and hope they their pants, tbh
LOL seriously...I also called that the Spurs should probably score more points than Miami to win the game.
tbh, I had a good run this year... the .500 thread, correctly predicting the Spurs-Lakers sweep, won a sig bet to DMC, this ... it only brings more pressure to be better next season, tbh
it's all good, Spurs never repeat anyways.
Actually it wasn't a "no brainer" call that Manu should be more aggressive, since everyone thought he lost his scoring ability (shooting 30% for the series before tonight's game) and that him being more aggressive would be a detriment. Why give more shots to a player in that kind of scoring slump?
The key adjustment was getting Manu back into his natural position.
Popovich said it himself, the spurs are a much better team when manu is manu. Aggressive, attacks the paint, makes plays for others. its a slump your right, but these guys are pro's they get paid to do what they do best, if anything popovich should get more criticism for not doing this earlier, thats probably a big confidence booster for ginobli, and a much needed one.
Despite playing mainly as a SG tonight, dude got more assists than any past game of this series. I think when you play to your strength, everything will turn out to be better which doesn't only include points, but also assists, steals and efficiency. playing more aggressively doesn't only earn himself extra paints, it also reduces the pressure on his teammates so they can score more easily. That's probably the best way for a born-to-be scorer to collect assists imho
I called that you would still be a horribly unfunny got.
All that cannot happen without the help of a higher power.
lol verde
sometimes it's better to be lucky than good, tbh
21 pts, 4 rbds, 3 assts, 2 blks, 3stls in game 4 in Golden State and 19 pts 7 rbds, 5 assts, 1 stl in Memphis in game 4.
Your wife doesn't seem to mind cuckold
no ing way hes married tbh
Not sure it had to do with aggressiveness imo, hes taken plenty of the same 'bad' shots in the playoffs that fell today.
Seems like he took it personal and gave everything he had today. Really hope Im wrong, but I dont think he can consistently play like this whether hes aggressive or not. One more performance like that should do it though, thats all we need and he can play like all next season if he wants.
I was being somewhat snarky.
