At 33 when the season starts, I'm guessing he doesn't get a lot of money. A wide skill set (has played 2-4 in his career), and a good shooter, he might be a good replacement for Sjax. I would suggest he is even superior athletically now - Sjax had a much higher peak but Dunleavy hasn't really slowed down... $5 Million/2 years would be a good deal.

Spurs could potentially lose a lot of 3 point shooters this summer with Mills, Neal, Bonner and Jackson possibly leaving. Adding shooters could become quickly a priority and Dunleavy is a very good one.
Definitely a good candidate for the backup SF spot.
I think he's a perfect free agent for the Spurs. He can play the 2, 3, or 4, he's got a high BB IQ, is a very good 3 point shooter, has good +/- numbers, won't be expensive, won't expect to start, and is 3" taller than Dejuan Blair. He'd be a good back up for Leonard, and could also play some stretch 4. Not a glamorous signing, but probably a very wise one.

Good Matt Bonner insurance if Bonner is traded. Only one inch shorter and about the same weight and age. Good marksman and can put the ball on the floor better than Bonner. Seems like a good fit.
Good offense but he is a soft player.

Yeah, but I'll bet his defensive rating is about 10 points worse, at least. You can teach guys who can defend, like Green, to shoot, but you can never teach Dunleavy to be laterally quicker and a lock down defender.
Very true. But as a bench player who would make about 2-3 mil/year, he'd be a bargain. I think signing Dunleavy would be very similar to the move the Spurs made a few years ago when they got Brent Barry.
No more defensive compromises. That got us 5 years of unceremonious playoff exits. Returning to defensive excellence got us a trip to the Finals.
Bench depth vet min.
