I think the proposed Celtics-Clippers trade - Adrian Woj reports it will come down to Garnett plus Doc Rivers for DeAndre Jordan and 2 first round picks - is one of the craziest trade proposals in a long time.

The Clips get an aging veteran who will play with a team that will not be a substantial advance over the Boston team of the past 5 years. The Celtics will take a monkeyballer who can't hit a free throw and who is grossly overpaid to replace their defensive stalwart and for what? No opening up of salary cap space or addition of any future talent except for two mostly end-of-the-first-round picks.

Craziest trade in a while for me.

If it really ends up playing out as DJ + 2 picks for Doc + KG, the Clippers will have pulled off a Laker-esque rape trade, tbh

Doc, KG, and (eventually) Pierce make the Clippers a lot better than they were last year, and there would STILL be assets left for another big trade, tbh....

I just hope this trade gets done soon....

rondo might as well ask for a trade then....makes no sense for him to stay back on a team of scrubs...pacers are in need of a PG, maybe to them...

Celtics get raped in this trade. BUT an old KG and Pierce doesn't really make them that much better.

Yeah that's exactly what the Pacers need,a non-shooting,assist-padding PG who doesn't feed the post

Son,is Pierce sure to get waived and off to the Clips? If then, that's a great trade..Otherwise,it doesn't put you over the top..Maybe gets you to the WCF,but that's your ceiling imo.

From all the reports, it seems the Celtics will either waive him themselves or trade him to another team who will waive him, then he heads to LA to join Doc and KG....

Yeah, I actually don't think the trade is nearly as bad as the first reported trade was. Then one where they were talking about trading Griffin and for KG and Doc. I mean come on, Blake is a lot better than KG now + younger.

Then it was Bledsoe, Jordan, and maybe a pick. Which was dumb 'cause you don't wanna dump Bledsoe. . .

Now it's Jordan and a couple late 1st rounders for KG and Doc. That's actually really solid for the Clipps. Sucks to lose two first rounders and take back a lot of salary, but the talent they get for it is definitely good.

Clippers pick in 2015 could be lottery one. Rivers seems to be overrated, and KG is old. All depends on landing Paul, but probably this whole trade idea is widely consulted with him.

Monkeyball is overrated and far from being indispensable for his team but the Clippers can surely get more from him than a 37yr old KG + a top10 draft flop named Rivers, imho. They can even brew a deal with the Lakers to get DH

    Finally a voice of reason
KG has been in the NBA since 1995 & is so banged up he can barely trot…Doc seems burned out & needs a couple seasons off…Plus 1s round draft picks?…Celtics should jump on this deal…

Solid trade.... i can see the celts rebuilding a defensive powerhouse on the fly. Grab Iggy in FA. draft one of these young 2 guards in this deep draft. Maybe grab robinson, worst come to worst trade for granger. they can make some things happen.

DJ was a "monkeyballer" when he was on the Clippers, now he's "solid, athletic, and improving" when he might be going to the Celtics.... funny how tunes change, tbh.....

What he really is, is overpaid garbage.... can't wait until he's not on the Clippers anymore tbh....

If Jordan wasn't such a horrible FT shooter he wouldn't be too bad of a player, but giving up KG for him?

Can't believe the Clippers have still managed to keep Bledsoe in all of these trades. He might be the most overrated player in Clipper history which isn't saying much but the guy would be a bottom half starter in the league.

Still, just getting rid of a loser like Deandre makes this trade a home run for the Clippers. But even with this trade they're a 2nd round exit next year unless they can flip Bledsoe/Griffin for Bible Kemp tbh.

If DJ wasn't a horrible free throw shooter, he'd still have zero offensive game, be clueless on defense, and have one of the worst contracts in the league....

Clipper Nation, IMO on second thought is right. This looks like a great win for the effing Clippers. Unless, the C's are doing what Doctor J cautions about - selling a KG who is done a la Bynum. In which case the Clips get nothing for the monkeyballer.
