Last night was worse because, in less than 30 seconds, the Spurs robbed themselves of a certain NBA Championship.

The good news is they have one more game to redeem themselves.

Game 6 will mean nothing if we win tomorrow. Seriously, who will be talking Game 6 being a horrible loss if spurs win. Saying that if only the spurs had won so that we could have had the river parade on thursday instead of on saturday, dang those 2 extra days hurt.

no, win game 7 and game 6 will make game 7 feel THAT MUCH GREATER!

So to answer your question, .4.

But if we lose game 7, then game 6 will definitely be reflected upon.
Agree. Lose Game 7 and this is worse because of the improbability of making it back to this point. .4 you still had a prime Timmy and crew

Was considering starting this exact thread, which is odd.

I think, all in all, Game 6 was worse - but the 0.4 game actually eliminated us, whereas we still have another chance in this series.

So take your pick, both were pretty bad nights at the office. In a way, I wish the Heat would've just blown us out by 40+ to spare us the agony.

We didn't get eliminated with .4 but we had to go to LA and win Game 6... which obviously was not happening after that.

Sure, the game will be remembered but the fact that the Spurs lost a 5 point lead in less than a minute will be largely forgotten.
The yellow rope was on the ing floor around the court. Even if the Spurs win Game 7, nobody's ever going to forget that.

If the Spurs win Game 7 tomorrow, Game 6 will actually serve as the championship sweetener. The Spurs lose tomorrow night? No comparison. Then Game 6 would be the worst loss in franchise history by a long shot, the severity unparalleled with what was at stake. Regarding .4 or even 2006, those were conference semifinal rounds.

But, but... If we win it all tomorrow, what do you say then? Then nobody will remember those fluke 3 pointers by the Heat.

Manu's foul on Dirk is worse than .4 tbh...we could have beaten the 2006 Heat but i doubt we could have beaten the 04 Pistons considering Manu had not emerged as a all-star yet.

Even if Manu hadn't fouled, the Spurs would have led by only by one point, 104-103, with still more than 18 seconds in the game (if I recall right.) It would have probably become all about the free throws. Yes, the Spurs would have likely still won, but it wouldn't have necessarily be a sure thing - as the missed free throws of last night can surely remind us that made FTs are no guarantee.

This game and it's not even close. It's the NBA Finals for Christ's sake. We literally had the trophy in our hands.. Up by 5 points with 28 seconds left.. We make ONE more FT or grab ONE more rebound and we're champs. And we blew it. Unreal.

.4 + Dirk foul is still less than last night. The only thing keeping me going is hope for game 7, if we lose that, i need a long break from basketball

depends if we win game 7 but as of now, but for me .4 because:

    1. It was one of the most improbable shots ever. duncan made a great shot himself before that.
2.you can argue the shot clock didn't start off in time
    3. We had the game and the series sealed
    4. this was at the height of the Lakers-Spurs rivalry, and it made me hate the lakers on a whole new level

The main difference between 0.4, Manu's foul and the other games mentioned here in this thread is that a championship was far from guaranteed in those seasons.

If Kawhi Leonard had just made both of his free throws, a championship would have been almost 99% certain last night.

this is up there for me. we could've taken it to 7 games. Honestly had we won game 6 fairly and spurs and okc squared off in game 7 FAIRLY, and still lost, i would've been like "ok, okc is the better team, go beat the heat". i would've accepted the lost but the fact that it was rigged pisses me off so much.

Oh and that game against the Bullets in 1978, when it was pretty obvious that no ABA team could even come close to embarass an NBA team.

Along the lines of what others have said:

If the Spurs lose Game 7, then Game 6 easily becomes, by far, the worst defeat in franchise history. Not even close.

If the Spurs win Game 7, then Game 7 becomes one of the greatest victories in franchise history.

I can't remember any two games where the stakes were this high in both games.

I'm so crushed right now it's hard to even focus on my work. So this one by far... I would have felt much better had the Heat just kept the lead after their comeback. But the fact that we had it in our hands is what hurts so much.
