Why don't you wankers ever talk about good bands like Bang Tango, Lizzy Borden, Hanoi Rocks, Faster Pussycat . . . you knobs wouldn't know a good tune if it gave you herpes!

When somebody tells me they dig The Clash I have to question their musical depth. It is hard for me to see someone who really knows music to say The Clash are on their list of must listen.
So let me get this straight, you question the musical depth of people like Dylan, Neil Young, Joe Ely, Patti Smith & Springsteen (who led the The Clash's R&R HOF tribute performance after their induction)? How about ins utions like the R&R HOF and Rolling Stone (love them or hate them aside)?

Instead we should listen to the musical depth of a guy who's "read all the books" and knows how to cut and paste ............. eh, I don't think so

Speaking of herpes you must have herpes of the brain if you think those are great bands.

I've actually heard more music (diverse) than anyone you mentioned.

My song and dance is that there are just a ton of better bands than The Clash.

No. The Clash was on that first list you posted. You can post all the ty lists you want, but it doesn't mean a thing.

You know what I want? I want you to explain how "Rapper's Delight" is a better rock song than "London Calling".

    This should be good.

I know they are just way back there. Trust me no matter how many lists other than...punk...will have The Clash way back there or not even mentioned. That doesn't send a message?

I think the real question is how is London Calling a better rock song than those ranked behind it.

As you are seeing most agree with me, The Clash are ok but there are tons of better bands.

    This should be good.

    Hahahahaha

Bottom line, it's real obvious The Clash ain't for everyone. For them to totally be ommited from most lists, well...

Give me what you consider their masterpiece, their number one song and let's see how high we can find that song listed on any list.

Tons and tons of this stuff out there. The Clash making a small impact when compared to others.

Bottom line is they had one decent album, one decent song. Now compare that to Dylan, Stones, Zeppelin, Beatles, Eagles, etc etc.

Wrong. They did have a short career though. I'll give you that.

Take away London Calling and what do we see? How many great albums did the great bands have?
