Good thoughts. This game is going to be an historic one. I just hope the Spurs come out on top at the end.
Beautifully written! Thanks for the thoughts. I'm right there with this team win or lose. Regardless of the outcome I feel this team has already won. But, let's go ahead an make it official.
Good thoughts. This game is going to be an historic one. I just hope the Spurs come out on top at the end.
As the 4th Quarter of Game 6 wore on, I found myself thinking that Manu was almost necessary to the Spurs -- regardless of how badly he played -- because he had actually been on the floor in that moment, trying to clinch a le, and was more likely to remain poised than some of his teammates.
Manu, as it turned out, didn't execute, but that doesn't change the fact that experience suggested strongly that he play in those moments; if he makes one more free throw, nobody says anything about it.
A byproduct of Game 6, though, is that now the Spurs have a whole bunch of guys who've been on the floor trying to clinch a le. They gained experience, even through a loss. If they're close late, that might play a role in getting this to the finish line.
Tonight isn't a burden; it's an opportunity.
Spurs in 7 unless something fluky happens like some bull Duncan foul trouble, injury or another barrage of fluke shots.
Unless that bull happens, Spurs in 7. It's done.
I'm pretty damn calm right now, for some reason. I just have a real good feeling about tonight. I just know this team will not be denied. GSG
Believe.
Well said TimVP, sums it up pretty perfectly and puts everything into perspective. Game 6 hurt, but here's to not looking back.
Now where is the NLAC!!!
Manu will have the game of his life tonight.
There aren't many times in your life that you face a day knowing that you will never forget that day for as long as you live. Today is one of those days.
Great great post. Thanks for this..
What a season
Finals
Game 7
I believe
Xap
ive preyed as much as I can. but, *god helps those who help themselves* so, spurs better brannng it
I don't know about you guys, but to me it's so much more than basketball at this point. It's the guys that stay together, play for each other, and respect the game and how it's supposed to be played vs the guys that front-run, love seeing their names in lights, and think they are bigger than the sport.
I want them to win as a Spurs fan because I ing love these guys after we've come to know them in the city over the last 14 years, but more I want them to win for the game of basketball. Maybe more teams start playing the game the right way, maybe the league starts marketing TEAMS over individuals. Maybe. Maybe it wont matter, but goddamn if they can pull it out and it does?
More than anything I want Tim to go out with 5 and for this to be the perfect ending to a great ride. Aren't the good guys supposed to win?
They might.
Most people do not get a second chance in life. Especially in Sports. Spurs get that tonight. Here is to taking this game from the Heat![]()
Goddamn I'm starting to get nervous as ... gotta get home and pop that XANAX.
Starting out strong will be imperative tbh. Even if the Spurs lead early, the Heat will make multiple comeback attempts. But if they get down by a lot early, I could see this thing being over by halftime.
Here's what I think about Vegas!
Regarding this being just a basketball game... I've been watching all the games with my 9-year old son and it's been a joy to spend that time with him and explain the intricacies of the game. It's something I'll never forget as his love for the game has grown. After game 6 he was crying and despondent (so was I), and it reminds you that even if it is just a game, it can be so much more. The teamwork, perseverance, and love the players display for each other is something I always point out and the reason we love this team so much... After tonight, win or lose, I'm sure it's something that the two of us will remember for the rest of our lives.
But Spurs, please, please win tonight!!!![]()
I consider myself a diehard fan, since the '82 season. But in case of a loss tonight, I think I may be able to find a peace knowing that, usually, in sports wins who deserves the most. Should the Heat win, they will have more than probably deserved their trophy. Winning game 6 cannot be considered a fluke. Till now, the Heat won ALL their 3 MUST WIN games, a sign of a great team. And you cannot be too upset if you lose to a team like that.
Seriously brought calm to my soul and a tear to my eye.
I'll be hanging with my brothers and sisters in Spurs tonight. I said it elsewhere, but I'll say it here. I'm damned proud of this team and this season and these playoffs and this series. I will be riding this wagon to glory or off a cliff, and I'll be cheering for my Spurs the entire ing way.
Whatever it brings, this is amazing.![]()
Feel better knowing they are behind our Spurs.
