Probably everyone who knows about Bayless Rose and Justice knew about Jimmie Rodgers first. He is a gateway to folk blues for a lot of people.
We can stop at Gram Parsons, top 20??????

Yeah, definitely . . . if I can include the aforementioned lps, plus The International Submarine band record. I think those, paired with the two solo records with Emmylou, is a pretty great collection of music.
You have no clue who those cats were, so why play that?
That's really the best you can do?
I didn't say that would be my number one . . . but in the top twenty? Sure. Also, I am just trying to get an idea about what the parameters are of this scenario. I need to know what all the rules are. Am I on an island?
Solid! My favorite of the Jimmie clones is Lefty Frizzell.
If someone went to give you a brand new 100 dollar bill, you'd it up, wouldn't you? Notiice how you're the only one...how do I play this...sheesh~~~~~~~~~~
Here let me dumb it down for you.

Even your dumbass can't that up.
Almanac list Nazi.
Who you got tonight, Avante? Considering that you're on a Spurs forum I thought I'd get your pick seeing as that you've never talked basketball on this site...
I don't know . . . I just need more information. Where am I? Am I trapped? Can I move about freely? What's my environment like? am I alone? Are there other people? Animals? What am I doing for shelter? Is anyone going to find me? Can I do something else if I get bored? Is it going to be like this forever?

tbh I'd just rather have my guitar and try to figure out songs by memory. So I'd want plenty of extra strings.
I hate the way new strings sound though . . . I wish you could buy pre-worn stings . . . right when they are in that sweet spot.
Mine end up sounding so dead, I can stand the pre-finger gunk brightness.
If I'm on an island I might want to consider wishing for a classical guitar.
I'm sold on the D'addario phosphor bronze . . . they warm up quicker and stay sweet longer. I don't know if a classical guitar would hold up as well in a tropical climate . . . plus, the strings are a pain in the ass to change.
Those are what I just put on my acoustic. If I had enough strings, corrosion wouldn't matter I guess.
Yeah, I want to like those coated strings, but I just can't do it, man. They don't sound good.
A girl who borrowed mine put some Elixrs on it. Sounded OK but I shredded the coating pretty quickly after I got it back.
I've got some 10 year old flatwounds on my bass. You can use them if you'd like.![]()
Bass strings last forever.
Boiling roundwounds actually works for whatever reason, but I can afford new ones now.
I use the same strings and noticed the same thing. You get that metallic "Stratocaster through a Reverb amp" sound at first like all new strings but it doesn't last long.
Boiling strings will work in a pinch because bass strings have a much stronger core, but they go to after you do it. Good for an emergency situation though.
I had many pinches back then.
I use D'addario on my electrics too . . . if anyone here works for them and would like to send me some free ones . . .
