I'mma have to go with Achilles. (Did I really just say that?)![]()
I always enjoyed watching prime Wade play, with the way he played above the rim so much with dunks and blocks at just 6-4. But obviously it's Kobe.

If we go purely on talent, I might go with either T-Mac or VC. T-Mac might have been the best overall player since Jordan until LeBron.
Wade's peak in 2006 was incredible. However, his regression just a few years later, whether by injury or by conceding to LeBron, is noticeable. Part of greatness is longevity and sustainability. And that's why Kobe has a clear edge. And while some argue that Kobe's peak isn't as great, it's not that far off from Wade. And Kobe has basically put up the same type of numbers for 12-13 straight seasons. Right around 25+ points, and just about 5 rebounds and 5 assists, give or take. His scoring bumped up the couple season after Shaq left, and dipped a little when the Lakers added Malone and GP. His assists went down a little his second season without Shaq when he chucked his way to 35 PPG, and then the first few seasons with Pau as both he and Odom to a lesser extent got some more opportunities to facilitate the offense. It was noticeable that last year Kobe's assists ed up, in part because Gasol was injured a lot and even when he played he was minimized by D'Antoni's system.
But again, look at Kobe's stats since about 2000-01, and you'll see remarkable consistency. Right around 25 PPG, 5 RPG, 5 APG, and his FG% ranging anywhere from the low side of 43% to near 47% in good seasons. The longevity and consistency in that longevity is a huge part of what marks his greatness. Kobe approaches Karl Malone in his ability to sustain greatness with such a high level of consistency for such a long career.
And even if we talk peaks, here's a comparison of Dwyane Wade's 2006 playoff run to Kobe's combined 2008, 2009, 2010 playoff runs:
Wade 2006: 28.4 PPG, 5.9 RPG, 5.7 APG, 2.22 SPG, 3.9 TO, .497 FG%, .378 3PT%, .808 FT%
Kobe 2008-10: 29.8 PPG, 5.6 RPG, 5.5 APG, 1.55 SPG, 3.1 TO, .464 FG%, .344 3PT%, .845 FT%
Pretty clear Wade had a better overall playoff run in 2006. But, imo, Kobe's run in three consecutive post seasons isn't far behind, plus he did it for three consecutive playoff runs.
If you want a player for a game or a playoff series, I'd have no argument if you took 2006 Dwyane Wade. But if you're talking about choosing a player for a career, to build a franchise around, to get the most out of for 15 years, with not only individual accolades but the ability to have championship success, it's really a no-brainer.
HH is bipolar. Thursday night he waxes poetic on How James carried Wade all playoffs now he posts this bull , which is it?
Bryant two beta > Wade three sita. The best forms of two players are close, but Kobe's shown way better longevity and consistence overall, plus wade never scores 60+ points in a game while kobe has managed to do so a number of times
.......
He welshed... got that he is
Best would have to be Kobe as much as I hate his ass.
I've always liked Wade though, particularly his exciting style of play around the 2006. Ever since his injury, he's never been the same. "Three" will never be considered better than Kobe unless he ends up winning 6 rings.
Wade
If both are healthy Wade is better. Both were Robin tbh.
Kobe could be better at scoring but Wade is a better defensive player. And Wade is much better teammate than Kobe ever will be. Kobe never could accept LeBron is the best player so Wade is clearly the pick
Kobe > Wade > Ginobili > Ray Allen
peaks are different, with wade being #1, but kobe's peak lasted for a decade
lol @ anyone thinking Wade's peak was even in the same stratosphere as Kobe's. He had a good finals series against an extremely soft defense, with arguably the worst reffing performance of all-time. That is the same Mavericks team Kobe put up 62 points against in 33 minutes.
If you put Kobe on that Heat team where he would basically iso every possession AND give him the most bogus superstar calls of all-time... we are talking about a 50ppg finals performance instead of 35.
Kobe Bryant....Wade will be done By 34 Kobe can still be good for the next 3 years, how is this. Question lol Kobe is top ten ever
Wait, are the same refs that were involved with the 06 Finals there too? In that case, Wade all day e'ry day.
butthurt much?
JP is right about Kobe not accepting a better teammate
