Whats done is done, true it sux but just have to move on. Ill feel better as soon as I see any action from the front office on cutting loose guys or bringing in new ones.
agree, I'm proud of the guys. It was a great run but I'll never forget those 28 seconds![]()

True. If the FO stays pat like they've been doing for the past 6 years, if they don't use that available cap space this summer to bring in some help, then I will go from being a Spurs fanatic to a casual Spurs fan. Duncan deserves more and the least the FO can do is to get him some help. Pop and Manu owe Timmy that 5th ring thanks to the 28 seconds. Duncan deserves better.
It would hurt worse for me if the spurs didn't already have 4 les. As spurs fans forget, there are a lot of nba teams that would love to be a 4 time nba champion.
Already over it. They did WAYYYY better than I expected them to do in the beginning of the season.
Way better than a lot of us expected, if you are honest with yourself.
I feel lucky to have this team in my town. And lucky to be one of their fans.
Eternity. Game Six. Ugh.
It's still stuck in my head. It's sad that Duncan beats himself up over game7 when it's game 6 I think most or all of us can't forget. Manu's epic tiness, Pop going loony...
I think like most brutal losses, like death, we will get over it until occasionally we remember how painful it was.
Right on the money, dude.
That's the key. Don't stand pat. Sure up the weaknesses. Use TMac or get a backup PG. Get some more low post scoring in our frontcourt. We've got to be able to punish teams for using small ball.
Are you over Memorial Day Miracle and the Lakers meltdown in game 7? I am not digging just asking if you are and if so how long it took to get over that back to back years with that heartbreak. We should never be that sad about SPORTS, yet for some reason they suck us in and we are.
Would have rather been blown out both games... having the le in your hand and then dropping it is so gut wrenching as a sports fan it can't even really be described, especially because of how much Tim deserved it. It's been replaying over and over in my head since that night.
Ditto.
Leonard deserved better, too. I hope he isn't like Dan Marino...get to the big stage early and then never see it again. That kid earned a ring and got denied by the absolute suck of Manu in G6 and Tony in G7.
Game 6 is the one that will haunt me. That final minute... the jubilation after Parker nailed a miracle 3... then Kawhi's missed free throws... Allen's dagger... It was the first moment I believed the championship was won, and then it was all taken away. Game 6 hurt more than any Spurs loss I've ever witnessed; so much so that losing Game 7 didn't turn me into a cliff jumper.
But this team far exceeded what I thought was possible this season, so for that I'm happy. It was a wild and crazy ride and as a sports fan, honestly that's all you can hope for sometimes. It could be worse, I could be a Bucks fan or something like that.
Leonard missed one. After Manu missed one. Leonard was an absolute beast.
Man, that would suck, but I have faith. Even after TD is gone, we have a pretty good core
The loss is not bad at all given the fact I have to stomach a loss of this proportion. We beat them, then gave it away. They have to walk around embarrassed knowing the got beat by a bunch of old farts and rookies. I think they may even need an asterisk to this championship like what Phil Jackson used to say about us before we won 3 more.
Game 6 will stay with me forever tbh. Still damn proud of the team and confident it'll be right there next year barring injuries (which with this team is always a heavy possibility).
The worst part is that we bucked all the percentages... the wrong way. We won Game 1, Game 3, and Game 5, which all have very high percentages of winning the series. Then a 5 pt lead with 28 seconds left... a win percentage of 98.6. And we lost. The basketball gods punished the Spurs. For what reason we'll never know, but they and we as fans will always know the pain.
Really it's game 6 more than 7 that kills me, but I don't know that I will ever truly be able to get over it. The Spurs winning #5 next year sure would help.
Spot on. I am pretty much certain no team has blown a 1-0, 2-1, 3-2, and up 5 with 28 sec left lead in game 6.
