I'm thinking yes. Beta Durant got destroyed by a one dimensional grizzlies team. Durant is great, but this proves that he is not cut out for being the alpha of a contending NBA team. Just isn't in his make up. How much better is OKC with Westbrick? Recall the 2012 playoffs tbh in which they backdoor swept a solid Spurs team. They may have beaten the Spurs this year with W.B. but that wasn't in the cards for methlahoma. So... is it time for Durant to pass the keys to the kingdom to W.B.? I think it is. It was already in the process the past couple years as we've seen brick, take just as many or more shot attempts than Acne Boy. This is not a coincidence. W.B. is the alpha and in fact might be just as or more valuable than his freakish acne-ridden friend next year.

Yes, & that's why I said earlier they'd fall in '14 and would be of no consequence. Westbrook is the catalyst, and he knows it. NYC, Media do not want him replacing Durant at the head of the table. It will be fun to watch this struggle as Media strives to keep it quiet and status quo.

Durant is made to be a #2 banana on a great team (like the 96-98 bulls), while westbrick is the leader of a scrub team. the combo of Durant and westchuck on the same squad looks just as awkward as the relationship between Bill Murry and my goddess in "lost in translation" imho

Tbh, KD will never be an alpha as long as Westbrick is on his team, either KD accepts the fact and lets Westbrick do his thing or he pulls a 04 Kobe and starts raping es to prove his alphaness and runs Westbrick and coach out of town, chucks 30 shots a game on medicore teams to get all the glory, but 0 team success unless he gets a dominant big man (like Kobe got Pau), that would be fine with getting 0 credit as long as his team wins.

I sort of realize it in an opposite way tbh. Durant is the better player than Westbrick without a doubt, but the doesn't have the personality or the mentality of a header's, which westchuck has. Westchuck is nothing better than a glorified Mo williams to me, and I'll never expect someone like him to lead my team to championship, though he can be a decent leader for a borderline playoff team. If durant gives up the driver's seat to westchuck, the team will only get worse. Durant ain't the right material to be the leader of a contender but I'd rather have him as the team's leader over Westchuck, and this OKC team is already way above the height which Westchuck could ever carry it to as the #1 of this team imho.

Mo Williams? I think Westbrick is much better than that and I actually think that he'd be a better leader than Durant, he has that Kobe mentality and he's a much more versatile player than KD, tbh. Prior to the 2012-13 season I thought Westbrick was nothing more than a glorified Stephon Marbury, but I think his ceiling is a bit higher. He's a good defender and when he's in the zone he's absolutely unstoppable on offense, I think OKC should trade KD if he keeps ing about being second at everything.

pointless thread. OKC is a one and done leader of the western conference. Unless they make some decent moves this summer, they'll be relegated to the 4/5 seed year after year until the team folds and moves to Seattle.

4/5 seed? So you put SA, Clipps and Grizz and Nuggets potentially ahead of them next year?

I think even better, his stats as a "2nd banana" this year were on par with Rose's MVP season, only that Westbrook was slightly more efficient on O but almost identical on D.

Westrbrick will be better than Rose after returning from injury. I suspect that he will return as soon as possible when cleared by doctors instead of ging out and letting his team get destroyed in the playoffs without its supposed best player. That's what makes Frogbrook an alpha. He wants the ball and wants to be on the floor at all times even if he is not the most superlative player in the world. After NBA level athleticism and skills, which most NBA players have at least to a degree, the thing that differentiates players is the mind. Westbrook has the mental edge over Rose and a similar skillset, putting him in a more elite category than Rose.

My thoughts exactly. Rose has the body of an all-time great but is about as pussy as Lebron in 2011 Finals. Westbrick may not have the greatest skillset nor the highest IQ, but you know he'll give you his all when the game is on the line. I think as he gets older he'll get smarter and his jumper will improve, putting up 23 pts 7 ast and 2 stls at his age already is impressive, I think he could put up 27 points and 8 assists, if he were in Houston in Harden's place (If OKC traded him instead).

If the Warriors resign Jack they will run roughshod over the west mediocre teams, contention pretenders, and possibly the Zombie Spurs.

they are my darkhorse for next year.

Lol you're right. They are likely to be higher than most of the teams on my list but I momentarily conveniently forgot them when posting my original post. I hope they don't get better as they are a legit obstacle in the Spurs' way.

I believe if Westchuck and Durant could exchange their minds with each other, the Thunder would be better off. Durant should be that man who takes 30 something shots a game and drives his team to the victory, but he let the role hijacked by Westchuck without doing nothing to prevent so. However, if I were a OKC fan I'd rather hope Durant will grow some leader instinct someday than make westchuck the leader of my team. Durant will learn to be a leader through time but chuck will always be the chuck, and will eventually turn out to be a timebomb someday.

How far do you see OKC going next year in the playoffs with this chuck/beta dynamic in mind?
