Still contract details needing to be worked out w/ Rivers and Clips, sources say. Also, "Clips need not to change their minds," source says.
Looks like he's going to LA after all. Clips almost royally screwed the pooch on this one.
They were beginning to have contract talks with Byron Scott...... lol.

If this goes through though, man, we're getting KG! YES!!!
I'm trying not to get too excited/relieved over this.... knowing these negotiations, the deal will die again as both teams bicker over which year the pick should be from, tbh![]()
Clips just need to give up whatever pick Boston wants and be done with it tbh. It's going to be a late 1st pick anyways, and they're getting their HC of the next 3-4 years at least (and a pretty good one at that). Doc is a player's coach. Guys enjoy playing for him, which will make other FA's want to come play for the Clips now too. This also guarantees Chris Paul is staying, even though I think he was regardless.
Don't matter, still won't win
I can't help but find all this fuss over a head coach to be silly.
"top three coach in the league"
Just watch, this will be the latest excuse for this trade to not get done....

Clippers have reportedly offered first round pick. Year unspecified. "Be surprised if (deal) is done before tomorrow morning," says source.

Y! Sources: Los Angeles, Boston nearing agreement on draft pick compensation to allow Doc Rivers to coach Clippers.
The Los Angeles Clippers are nearing an agreement to send a future first-round draft pick to the Boston Celtics for the rights to hire coach Doc Rivers, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.
Talks started again on Sunday when the Clippers offered the Celtics a first-round pick to freeRivers from his contract with Boston, sources said.
Rivers and the Clippers are working on the language of a five-year, $35 million contract, and no agreement will be in place until those details are finalized, sources said.
Rivers told the Clippers that he was no longer interested in the position on Friday, but pressure from the franchise's star player, Chris Paul, stayed strong on Clippers management over the weekend and Los Angeles reconsidered its unwillingness to give Boston a first-round pick, sources said. The NBA will still need to approve the deal.
Rivers had gone into the weekend planning to decide his future with the Celtics, and sources said he had been leaning strongly toward returning next season to fulfill the three years and $21 million left on his contract. With the Celtics moving into a rebuilding phase, several sources told Yahoo! Sports that Boston management preferred draft-pick compensation over paying for an elite coach.
Who say's he's a Top 3 coach?![]()
you guys get KG and Dwight no matter what the cost, with Doc to keep the egos in check ... Clips will be scary tbh.
So once this gets done, how long before the Clippers trade for KG? The writing is on the wall, just a matter of time tbh.
Doc is Preacher with a decent playbook, tbh.
Few coaches get the best out of Phil, so yes, he's top 3 at least.
Paul won't leave with Doc coming. Now Clips just need to convince Dwight he gets to stay in L.A. and play with Paul. trade for KG. Lakers and Clips work out a deal ... Clips become favorites in West.
good with egos and in-bounds plays. Makes him a top 5 coach at least.
1. pop
2. Rc
2. tibbs
4. Doc
5. Spo
^ you're a dam fool if you believe this...![]()
one le in 6 yrs with 3 Hall of Fame players and 4 All-Stars...he will bring nothing to the Clips except a serious greasy face look and a good deep voice for the NBA coaches mic during timeouts...
Garnett
Ray Allen
Paul Pierece
Rondo

Abject Failure!
Just having a decent playbook makes him better than the majority of NBA coaches, tbh, especially with Phil, the Van Gundys, and Sloan not coaching anymore....
What a crappy deal. We better be able to keep rolling that pick, and it better not be top ten protected or some BS. What good is a low first round pick?
