Mike had a presence about him ........ will always be in the discussion for the GOAT. At least one of the top 2 spots will have his name.

Agree. Mike was a different animal. His charisma is off the charts. I lived in DC for 2 yrs and luckily was able to see Jordan during his Wizards days. There's just something about the way he plays that captivates people. Every move was like a highlight reel. I saw the game against Toronto and the younger Vince who was In his prime was guarding him. Jordan did a pump fake and VC fell for it and he lost balance and Mike made the shot. I'm telling you the whole crowd went nuts. Its like he made a freaking buzzer beater.

Wouldn't that be Timmy Duncan? That choke was exciting though.

I remember seeing him live the year he averaged 37.1 PPG. Spurs would throw three guys on him and he'd still run right down the middle of the lane and dunk on their bigs. And this is with Alvin Robertson as his primary defender (think an angrier, faster, more athletic version of prime Artest; would have been a legendary defender if he wasn't such a criminal).

James still has an open invitation. He'd start with the 3 peat. That would garner him a foothold. From there it would be a long & arduous journey. & frankly I wouldn't mind it. He'll (continue) to function as the Bulls functioned for me:::as an Eastern roadblock for mine enemies.

Yeah, only player I have ever seen who was anything like Prime Jordan was Prime Wade. But Prime Jordan was bigger, stronger, and more athletic than Prime Wade, so a significantly better player. And Prime Wade was ridiculous.

I still remember him in D.C.. I mean you have to retain that memory between your ears because Stern outlawed any actual video of it.

So funny, I was actually going to say the EXACT same thing. But I figured I'd get flamed for bringing up Wade in a Jordan conversation ,so I skipped and edited. But you're right, Wade was similar in a lot of ways to MJ. Ive seen Vince, Kobe, Grant Hill live, players were compared to Jordan and none of them stacked up. But when I saw prime Wade, it honestly reminded me of MJ though a bit shorter.

Y all don't think the advancement of entertainments, like Internet,Video Games(especially online play)etc, has nothing to do with it. I just think that this era of entertainment is compe ive in these days, then Jordan era.

Mike shooting fadeaways with 2 hands in his face and air walking is must see TV. Not Lebeta travelling, flopping and bricking open jumpers.

Nope. Just that Lebron doesn't draw an audience as big as Michael did. Do you think the 10mil+ viewer difference comes from NBA league pass? People that watch games on the internet are usually international fans, that wouldn't affect the statistic anyways. And video games affecting viewership? I think NBA games have actually drawn more people to the game, especially the younger generation, which means additional viewership.

NBA games are still nationally televised, most people that followed the NBA during the 90s (and are alive, and have the opportunity to watch) still follow it today, Michael was just more popular. If someone did a survey around the world and asked everyone to name their favorite all-time player, MJ would win by default.

Jordan played in an era where you had to watch the game live and you didn't have access to elaborate notes, and you didn't have PVR, Youtube, torrents, forums, Twitter, etc..

haters have to reach now, they don't have anything left to stand on, tbh..

It was true until the end of game 6 when Pop the bed and gifted Lebeta a dream game 7 with multiple open looks.

lol, yet Lebron's viewership has declined since the 2011 Finals.

and Lakers vs Celtics game 7 drew in 28.2 million viewers

Lakers-Celtics also had better ratings than any Finals Lebeta played, so your 90's TV argument is invalid son.

People don't want to constantly look at Lebeta's old man face and haircut, fact.

LA is the 2nd largest market in the US, Chicago is 3rd, tbh..

    Miami is 16th..

Ratings were higher in every sport prior to our era, but the market obviously makes a difference, too..

And watching him take wide open jumpers with Mike Breen yelling BANG every time is no fun, either.
