    According to ESPN, Houston will offer a sign-and-trade to the Lakers which will ship Omer Asik and Jeremy Lin to Los Angeles in exchange for Howard. As a result, the Rockets will be able to go after Chris Paul and put him alongside Howard and James Harden.

    you're not signing him outright moron..dude is the patriarch of a very large clan...he needs the dough...not leaving it on the table...you have to deal and we're taking no less than those 3..Parsons included or no deal....

    Not that bad if the Lakers got all 3, Parsons has a great contract and is just what they need, send Lin and Asik to a 3rd team (Boston) for Rondo.

    For Rondo and Garnett...that would be sweet..we could pair Gasol with Garnett while having Rondo with a shooter in Parsons

    If you paid attention to the math which is obviously asking too much, He'd sign a 4 year deal which he'd make 8 million more, or opt out in 3 and sign a new max before the new CBA. Thats of he is leaving. So you'd get nothing and like that

    That'd be a great deal for Houston. Asik and Dwight wouldn't be able to co-exist so they'd unload his contract and Lin's. The only bad part is losing Parsons but losing him and being able to sign another big free agent is worth it imo.

    you dumb. Living in the old CBA, like most Lakers fans. It's a new age where LA isn't guaranteed success. Dwight doesn't get more money through a S&T.

    Chinese? He wouldn't get if Lin ain't there...Chinese people stick to their own kind...they only became fans of the game due to Yao Ming

    25 billion dollar TV deal..I'm sure we can work something out...just to maximize Kobe's last 2-3 yrs

    Dwight has a image problem that can be fixed by winning no matter where at. He earned 10+ million in endorsements his last year in Orlando. That dropped to 2.4 mill in L.a. He needs to win to fix that.

    The only reason we'd consider it is if we have a shot at Paul. Even then I don't believe it would be too hard to unload Lin and Asik elsewhere for more assets, while creating the necessary space for CP3/other FAs.

    it dropped because he was injured...not because he moved to LA dip ...he won't win in Houston...Houston had a decent year but it won't translate...they're not that good of a team just got lucky tbh

    I'd like to think Morey or whatever his name is smarter than this, I could see Lin, Asik and a 1st or 2nd rd pick though. Parson's is untouchable at the moment.

    Sage advice for us all, really…but especially if you are a high profile athlete who has seen his Ps (as in popularity and poise) and Qs (as in Q scores) drop precipitously in recent months.And especially when such rapid reductions in mass appeal could cost you millions in future endorsement earnings.

    Whether due to (1) unforeseen cir stance, (2) unhealed wounds, (3) unfair criticism, (4) unwise public relations skills, or (5) an unveiling of one’s true colors, there is quan ative evidence that Dwight Howard’s likability has fallen faster than the Los Angeles Lakers’ chances of making the NBA playoffs in 2012-13.

    - In January 2012, Mr. Howard’s Q score was 20…a good number when one considers that the average for athletes is about 16;
    - By September 2012, his Q score fell to 15;
    - As of January 2013, his Q score further dropped to 13.

    A fairly significant drop when one considers that (1) he has not been involved in any social indiscretions (e.g. no arrest, no sexual misconduct) and (2) often times Q scores increase when a player relocates from a mid-sized (Orlando) to a large-sized (Los Angeles) market.
    Prior to January 2012, Dwight was Superman both on and off the court. Based on his plummeting Q scores since, he may be a Super-Dud to prospective corporations considering the use of his brand.

    Dwight Howard was an extremely marketable athlete prior to the last 18 months. Talented, handsome, chiseled, and affable. As a result, he profited from his highly attractive brand. Sports Illustrated’s 2012 Fortunate 50estimates Mr. Howard’s annual endorsement earnings at roughly $11 million annually, with his Adidas contract being chief among those endorsements.
    But some have labelled Mr. Howard a coach-killer, a complainer, and a problem-starter in light of his exodus from Orlando and the Lakers rocky start. Mental images of a lovable Clark Kent from a cheeky Sportscenter commercial have been replaced of late with countless uncomfortable interviews where he opines about relationships with teammates, coaches, and the systems within which he performs.

    Wtf would we want Lin? Asik and Parsons, sure but I hate that deal even if Parsons is included. And I doubt this happens but if they can form a big 3 I'm pretty sure Chandler ing Parsons is expendable to make that happen. Rox are like LG fans 3 years ago. Back then some Laker fans wanted to trade Pau for Klove. Many re ed folks argued it was not enough now Ninny laughs in our face. Rumor was Pau and Rubio wanted to play together. But dumbass Laker fans were being greedy.

    D'antoni still LOVES him. I've seen that in a couple of articles. They LOVE Asik too. But Parsons won't and shouldn't be in such deal.

    Acting like Lin is an albatross is absurd. He is overpaid, yes, but has upside and had a decent year. He was not a bad player overall and showed improvement throughout the season. He, like the rest of the team, sucked asshole in game one but then got injured and could barely lift his arm the rest of the series.

    That being said, this is some pie in the sky we're talking about. Houston will sign Dwight outright in all likelihood (if he chooses to be a Rocket). No reason to give LA anything if we don't have to.

    Lakers get robbed if they get this deal done. trading your best player for a bunch of role players + a trash doesn't make much sense to the lakers imho.
