And Keith was influenced by Chuck. So what?
Now, give me a quantifiable metric to measure influences. Since it's completely ing objective, you can't. Hence, opinion.
I think a Brian Jones Elmore James cover band without Keith and a totally different rhythm section would have probably failed, but the Stones probably would have figured it out anyway.

Elmore James may have been an initial influence, but ongoing, not so much. Specially since Jones went swimming with the fishes.
This is boring. Avante, who do you think influenced Brian Jones more? Elmore James or Hubert Sumlin?
Brian Jones is the guy who got the band together, he wanted a blues band because of his obsession with the music and in particular....Elmore James.
What else is there?
Even after Jones was long gone.
Elmore James woke Jones up to the music, Jones made it very clear that after listening to Elmore everything changed for him. Turned his musical life around.
Dude, I have two big books here on the Stones...OK?
Any half-decent blues band can muster a cover of Dust My Broom tbh.
Ok my goal here was to get you your very first two pager here at The Club. This is how it's done little guy, controvery, conflict, turmoil, debate, arguement, joust.
If not for me this thread would have ended up like all your others...KAPLUNK!!!!!!
You are welcome and hopefully ya learned something. Light a fire, guy....ok?

Big books, eh? Neat. Do either of those books mention Chucky Berry? Bo Diddley? Buddy Holly? Muddy Waters?
Don't ya think Brian Jones would have "woke up to the music" with or without Dust My Broom?
Sure and even Johnny Cash, James Brown, Louis Armstrong, Tennessee Ernie Ford. But it was Elmore James who was the huge influense on Brian Jones and why he wanted a blues band.
Dude, it's all right in in these books why fight it?
Here ya go.

Arguing with Avante is like walking the Penrose Stairs.
You don't take on a blues/track/football historian in blues/track/football.
His love of Elmore was the impetus for the band. It is not the major influence of the band. Lrn2contextualize.
When I want a historian's take on something, I'll find me a good book.
That's right and totally prepared to prove it.
I'm right here.
No, I'll be asking an actual historian. But, keep your chin up, kid.
Ok bro I did all I could for ya, took this silly ass thread and pumped some life into it. This is by far your best thread. Light a fire little fella...ok?
Prove Brian Jones wouldn't have turned on to the blues, become a musician and not formed the Rolling Stones without Elmore James' influence?
You pumped something into this thread but I wouldn't go around bragging about it if I were you. Know what I'm saying . . . little fella.
Where did I say anything remotely close to that? I'm just telling you the facts which are yes it was Elmore James who did get Jones deep into them blues, he was the reason James wanted to have a blues band.
You really do need to start boning up on this stuff, ok?
So, you can't support the hypothesis you proposed and argued for in this very thread?
