This is painful to watch. You know, the defense can ask for charges to be dropped for lack of evidence after the state is done.
Katt Williams writing a skit bout this woman right now. He made fun of that woman in that Jackson trial too.
On the real, although she seems a little slow, she's the only one to withstand the defense as opposed to the other witnesses.
She's making the Obamaphone woman looking like a genius.
To me she is acting annoyed rather than actually withstanding and my experience has been that this generally does not sit well with jurors. There was one point where she kept saying she did not understand the question when he was asking some pretty basic questions.
The real negative is that no one on this jury is going to be able to relate in any way, shape or form to this witness. That is what is going to hurt her testimony more than anything. Unlike the old lady who testified this morning, although I thought her testimony ultimately was weak, she was a sympathetic witness. I don't see that with this girl.
I hate to say this but someone at my office actually made the same comment.

4:59 p.m. ET: Defense attorney West has approached with Jeantel with a transcript of her deposition and has asked her to take as much time as she needs to read it.

Not a good think for the jury to see in my opinion.
Its probably not the best defense to say that when you gave a statement you didn't care enough about the statement to make sure that it was accurate. Essentially, she is asking the jury not to take into consideration the fact that she contradicts herself repeatidly because she only chose to tell the truth months after her statements to the Martin's attorney. Not very good for the prosecution.

At some point, I would have inadvertently found a way to get a plane ticket to her to go with her mom to Haiti or wherever the mom is from. This girl is killing the prosecution.
The bald attorney for the prosecution should just sit down and let Guy take charge of the rest of this case. He is so awful its pathetic. It is clear who the political prosecutor is and who did all the work. Guy gave a damn good opening statement and has been steller in his presentation. Baldy just looks like an old guy who asked for cliff notes to the trial on the drive over.

5:10 p.m. ET: West tells Jeantel they can give her more time to go over the transcript and resume tomorrow. She says she's going to finish today. West asks her if she's refusing to testify. The judge tells West to keep the questions based on her testimony.5:12 p.m. ET: West asks to recess until Thursday but the prosecutor wants to continue. The judge asks how much longer West will take and he says they should plan on a couple more hours to which Jeantel replies, "What?" The judge has recessed court until 9 a.m. ET Thursday.

It's funny watching people in this thread get disappointed or happy to confirm what they want to believe. Instead of throwing out your own biases and hearing everything in real time, you are rooting for something to confirm your stance and then feel disappointed when it's not what you hoped.
