Count yourself fortunate you found two fools to with (Clips, Nets). You'd waited far too long to jettison your garbage.

Eh, that core got us our first le in a long time, and almost a 2nd, plus some memorable playoff moments. I'd rather hang onto them than kick them to the curb for nothing. It's not like football where picks actually have a decent chance of being good; the NBA draft after pick 4 or 5 is usually a crapshoot.

Ainge better ing nail those draft spots. And the silver lining about KG/Pierce not going to the Clips is I can root hard for them to suck to improve our draft slots, and I can semi-cheer the Nets for the next two years since two of the three picks are 2016 and beyond, when it's likely they'll have retired.

^Neither was ever vested in the Celtics. KG came bas ized and Pierce is an arch criminal.

& Media will provide cover for this coup de tat.

Ainge is a bitter little man, but, he got the beginning of being straightened out here. NYC has their fingerprints all over this chapter. Stern musta still owed 'em one.

Eh, I don't know whether or not they were vested in us, but we were vested in them. That's what counts.

KG being hurt in '09 and Perkins' injury in '10 may have stopped a 3peat. Crazy.

Perkins was actually a solid center in those days.

    Now trade Green for Diaw+Bonner+picks/De Colo/Neal S&T.
Diaw is expiring, and Bonner could be bought out for only one million. But around 8 millions of expiring is always good to have in a rebuiding team, instead of having a starter but nowhere star player for 8 millions per year.

Stern blocking them from the Clippers, leaving them the same average ass team they were before.

Nah, not at all. Look at some of the picks he's made; Rondo, Tony Allen, big baby, Powe, Perk, al jefferson, sullinger, Bradley, all on mid to late first or second rounders. Guys great in the draft. He mostly misses in free agency

Good point. His trades are garbage, but that's a pretty impressive lineup of picks.

Furthermore, the 2015 Clippers 1st, and both the 2016 and 2018 Nyets 1sts are unprotected, and the 2014 Nyets 1st is minimally protected.

We just saw a super-team like the Lakers narrowly miss the lottery from injury, age, chemistry, and coaching.

Who's to say at least one of those picks doesn't strike gold?

Clippers 1st traded to oust Baron Davis turned into Kyrie Irving. You just never know.

And before anyone says, "but the Nyets are big spenders!"

So the what? The Knicks had the highest payroll for most of the last decade with more lottery appearances than playoff wins.

My guess is half those four 1sts are are lottery, most likely the two late Nyets 1sts.

You just traded three players at an average age of like 35 for three 1sts.

    That's almost unheard of.

Showcase Wallace and trade him next offseason for another 1st. Maybe do the same with Rondo.

2014 and 2015 drafts are loaded with top tier talents and quality star level depth.
