    Per Woj:

@WojYahooNBA: As @SpearsNBAYahoo reports, Boris Diaw's opting back into the Spurs for $4.7M in '13-14. His agent, Doug Neustadt, says letter sent to team.

Say what you want but Im happy he did and its a fair value deal. I think if he gets in better shape could play 25mins/gm next yr...

Spurs got lucky. Could have hunted for a long term deal had he wanted.

He is great for this team. Glad he is back. He adds good depth and versatility. He helps that second unit keep the ball moving.

Awesome. Diaw is a vital piece to the rotation and would have been hard to replace, especially for the same cost.

    Great news.

I'm not a big Diaw fan, but he really came through for the Spurs in the playoffs.

Good job! Next priorities are to convince Manu to still be a part of the team but in a lesser role, some or at least one sensible FA signings and then, our team is good to go.

LOL. Like anybody else in the league would be willing to pay as much. Don't get me wrong I mean I rather pay him over Matt Bonner.

Since I was talking about years and not yearly amounts, your post makes no sense.

My take doesn't change and is just as valid. LOL. Like anybody else in the league would be willing to pay as much or sign him for a long term. Players obviously opt in when they know that they won't get a better deal elsewhere. Your wrong. I'm right.

Excellent news. He's always been one of our steadiest players throughout the regular season and playoffs. I don't think I've ever been angry or furious at Diaw for making an egregious mistake. On the other hand, he's blown me away a number of times with his passing and defensive prowess.

Yeah, sometimes he'll make you cringe by his passiveness, but in the end his pluses outweigh his minuses by far.

looks like you have another member in your fan club. SBM and SA210 must've been feeling lonely to recruit this guy

He could've opted out to re-negotiate a long term deal with the Spurs.

Players often stay on the Spurs for less money than they could get elsewhere.

It's a distinct possibility this is the case with Diaw.

he could have easily opted out and waited for a 3 year deal worth 12 mil or something of that sort. even if its for less money per year, it would be a longer commitment than our brass wanted to make. 4.7 is a really fair price for a dude that comes off the bench and plays 2-3 positions. very versatile on both ends of the floor and in our ball-movement offense, having a passer like him is invaluable.

Yeah, that could have been good or bad. Ultimately, I don't think Diaw's market value is much less than the MLE, if at all.

I suppose you're right but I still think the Spurs are the only ones interested in him. There are no other teams better than the Spurs that bring out the best out of players. Just remember Diaw with the Bobcats. Everyone pretty much thought that he was useless at that point but the Spurs got some production out of him.

I think the point is Diaw is worth $5 million to the Spurs in their system but not another team. He probably did earn some leverage if he wanted a longer deal, but I don't know that the Spurs wanted to offer one at similar money. Win-win everyone's happy and he's likely to stick around in S.A. for more than another year too.

Ok, I meant most or a lot. Can you actually defend yourself through basketball arguments rather than grammar errors? I don't think so.
